Extremely happy with how the Seattle beast race went last weekend. My goal going in, knowing it was a flat course, was to push my pace beyond my comfort zone as much as possible. I knew there were going to be some fast guys at this race and I wanted to be able to stick with them as long as I could. While I could never match the pace the first two guys set, I was able to find a gear and catch spots 5, 4, and 3 in the last 2 miles. I needed every foot of that race, but in the end I was able to pull off a podium. Also did the fastest 30 burpees of my life at the spear throw. Thanks to @bennnie_crocker for helping me pace the first 9 miles uncomfortably.
Goals for the last half of the year so far:
Portland podium: 🥈✔
National Champs top 15: ✔
Seattle podium: 🥉✔
Up next: Tahoe.
Today is my 4 year gymversary! 4 years of ups and downs, but never backing out. If I stop, all these 4 years of sweat, tears, accomplishments, and setbacks would mean nothing. I celebrated my 4 years doing what I've learned to love to do; Spartan racing! Today I completed one of my trifectas for 2018 and what better way than with my #HT peeps! A big thank you to my family for putting up with me being away when doing these races! Spartan racing has taken me to some cool places I've never been before. I hope to one day bring them with me to share all this with them. #2018isnotoveryet#fewmoreracestofinish#SpartanBeast#spartanfinisher#trifectatribe#trifectachaser
Alright, alright...I didn't die but there were a few questionable moments. Almost didn't make it over the 10 ft wall, failed the spinning monkey bars and multi-rig, and nearly lost my foot to the swamp 😂
I'm 2 for 3 now, with one race left to go this year. This is officially the farthest I've ever gone and one of the hardest things I've ever done in my life 😊💪 13+ miles and 30+ obstacles in 5 hours is no joke!! #likeachamp#spartanbeastseattle#spartanraces#trifectachaser
Two a day weekends are back! Today was all about cardio. Got in a one mile swim after my swim lessons this morning and then went to the canyon for a hilly 4 mile trail run 🏊🏻♀️🏃🏼♀️👌🏼 Omg I forgot how hard two a days are when you’re not in shape for them 😱🤣 And this heat today didn’t help... But that’s ok, now I know where I am and how far I have to go to get myself Beast ready! Tomorrow is weight training and yoga day 💪🏼🏋🏼♀️🧘🏼♀️
Swipe to see how tired and sweaty I am at the end of my run! .
