Earth Day 🌏 ⠀⠀
A gentle reminder that we are all a part of nature and not separate from or above
A reminder to have gratitude towards the Sun for simply rising for us each morning, welcoming us into each new day with warmth and consistency - and appreciation towards the Moon for keeping watch over us through the dark of the nighttime. For illuminating the darkness with her watchful presence and light ⠀⠀
A reminder that nature has many voices. In the wind, in the plants, flowers and trees, and in all the creatures who move around us- just because they do not communicate in the same way that we do does not mean that they are not speaking to us -if we care to listen we may hear them too ⠀⠀
We will not be able to hear them through logic or intellect but only by truly feeling and being present. If we make space to listen, Mother Earth will gather us in carefully at her feet and tell us of her plight ⠀⠀
Thank you to the Earth for raising us all up as your children. One child, all of us together, even when we do not realize it. And for holding us closely against your body even at times we believe we are alone 🌏
Just before I took this picture, I saw an eagle flying away, carrying dry twigs in its mouth, on its way to create a nest. Can you see the nest inside the tree, that whirly unruly black hole?
I wonder if it was the same nest.
I don’t think of eagles as being maternal.
But some of them must be.
