we’ve been doing nothing but taking long walks around the city, buying fresh food & cooking delicious meals (which tata has been surprisingly okay about sticking to mostly vegan 🌱) and binge watching Grace & Frankie. things are calm and so nice. + on tuesday, we’re off to Dusseldorf 🚂 🇩🇪 •
I’ve asked before but hit me up with your recommendations👇🏽 (particularly what to eat + where to go + must see, if you know it!)
Austin is back on the road and this weekend he’s going to Columbus, Ohio! Not the most glamorous location, but he’ll be sure to share some interesting finds. Keep an eye out for his updates on our insta story this weekend! #rateyourseats#AustinInColumbus#travelguide
Surrounded by language I do not understand in the slightest, allows me to appreciate more vividly the language of nature, humanity, and energy, via the wordless vibrations of intuition.
So striking is all this beauty, both within and surrounding us, when I am not distracted by obligation to my comprehension of normalities and formalities.
Time and again, the experience of such poignant and majestic beauty--or the piercing pain of knowing freedom, yet seemingly only in isolation and loneliness--instantaneously clears the veil of my own cultural assumptions.
Look and listen closely, withholding judgement--for each person, place, and object, represents a unique story and perspective... and is a delicate yet indestructible thread of an endless tapestry of life, death, fear, hope, love, resilience, pain, suffering, survival, transformation, and renewal.
Reflective fridays✨literally and figuratively~
I love the contrast here between light at dark, soft and hard, concrete structure and uncontainable air...They complement each other and keep harmony always in view
I picked up a few lettering books from the library today: In Progress by @jessicahische, By Hand by @nicolemiyuki, and New Ornamental Type: Decorative Lettering in the Digital Age by Steven Heller & Gail Anderson. The internet provides wonderful resources when it comes to learning about… anything really, but going to the library and finding physical books made me feel like a curious child again. I’ve got a LOT to learn about lettering… (how does one create elaborate swashes/flourishes?!) and I don’t think I’ll ever stop learning. I’m perfectly okay with that 😌 Stay curious, friends 💕
