What people usually remember about the city of Amsterdam is the everlasting beauty of the buildings and the particularity of the different neighborhoods that can be easily visited by walking around or by biking, like the locals do.
This time, there’s one different element that I‘d like to remember with this picture about Amsterdam, and this element is Vondelpark.
I simply adore visiting parks, especially when I find myself in a highly visited or populated place. It’s a lot of fun to contemplate all the monuments and the buildings one after the other and take tons of pictures all around the city. Nevertheless, I personally think it’s also awesome to find a peaceful place in the middle of the concrete jungle, where one can temporarily escape from all the noises and the chaos that invades the main roads, to relax and stop rushing just for a little while.

"Some visceral, vital, animistic relationship with the earth got lost. And what we have now is well meaning people providing news stories about the earth and the state of the earth, and statistics about the time we’re in. Statistics will not help us fall in love with anything. The hour is very, very late. And what we need is a great, powerful, tremulous falling back in love with our old, ancient, primordial Beloved, which is the Earth herself." ~ Martin Shaw
We invite you to fall in love with Tanzania - it is impossible not to.
A great way to give back to wilderness and wildlife in Africa is to support organisations like @carbontanzania@honeyguide_tz@email@example.com, @grumetifund. And there are many others too. All these organisations are making a real difference, right now, on the ground, where it counts.
You know that place between sleep and awake, the place where you can still remember dreaming?
That’s where I’ll always love you.
That’s where I’ll be waiting.

Panama and the U.S. have a complicated history. One part of that complicated story is Jan. 9th, 1964; el Día de Los Mártires (or Panamanian Martyr’s Day). The statute in this photo commemorates the student lives that were lost on that day.
At its height, the US had 24 military bases in Panama to “support” Panama Canal operations and in the early 1960s, there was growing tension between the US military and Panamanians about the fact that US flags were being flown prominently on military bases without Panamanian ones being flown beside them. The prominence of one such flag on a military base directly opposite the Instituto Nacional inspired middle and high school student activists to start a protest with the intent of stringing up a Panamanian flag alongside the US flag. In the end, the protest lead to the death of Panamanian student protestors (I.e., the Martyrs).
In an unprecedented move for a country of its size, Panama ceased all diplomatic relations with the US until the US was willing to renegotiate the terms of the Panama Canal Agreement. The result was the Carter Torrijos Treaty, an agreement in which the US agreed to the complete turnover of Panama Canal operations and surrender the lands constituting its military bases in Panama by 1999.

Yet another beautiful place we randomly discovered while driving around with motorbike. We stayed here for the rest of the day, and enjoyed the tranquillity of nature. #happyplace

When I travel I love the popular and famous spots, everyone does of course! BUT if you’re like me, you crave locations like this. Unpolluted, serene, original. It’s special. Do you love hidden gems like this?! ⠀
Although this photo was heavily edited and this location doesn’t look exactly like this. It’s still motivating to me! Because places like this DO exist! There’s so much left undiscovered!⠀

A little visit to the flamingos of Rue Berthe in Paris. I just love Paris. Definitely somewhere for a second home. Previously it was Barcelona but that’s number 3 now. What I love is the 15 min from my home to@the Eurostar. Apologies for the short interior post break whilst I’m on holiday. Behind the scenes there is a lot of frantic decisions to be made on grout, paint, paper and furniture. This means you’ll be seeing some new interiors soon.
