So lets keep the summer going!! 🏝😎 On a more serious note, Autumn and Winter is the time of year where people make or break their long term fitness goals.
Sept-Dec can be the most critical months on your path to fitness.
In January you will have your resolutions and come March you will start getting ready for Summer. June comes and everyone is outside - active in the sunshine. Those who have committed and truly adopted fitness as a lifestyle will continue to “show up”. Those that need a resolution, a holiday, a swimsuit or a reunion to be motivated will go into hibernation until after the cold goes away.
Don’t start over come January. Don’t play catch up.😒 Remind yourself why you started this journey.🏋️💪 What would it be like if in January you didn’t have to make a resolution to “start working out”. “THINK DIFFERENT” 🤔
The other day I was asked to run 6 miles!😐 I was thinking to myself there is no way. I mean, yes I’ve done a Spartan Sprint and a Spartan Super, but that’s different. Going out and having enough motivation and dedication to run in a circle for 6 miles is a complete different kind of mind set for me. Adrenaline and excitement get me through obstacle course races along with the sense of accomplishment I feel at the end. Who gets excited to go out and run a boring 6 miles when there isn’t anything to earn at the end? Well I thought the answer was no one. Butttt that changed. I loved and hated every mile of that run. It was hot, it was shadeless, I was sweaty, I was dying, and I made it. I was so dang proud of myself for finishing. You can do anything you put your mind to. You just have to start and push through until the end. Change your mind set from “This is going to suck” and “I can’t do it” to “I may enjoy this” and “I can do”. Step out of your comfort zones and try new things. Enjoy the little things and love what your body can do!❤️💦

While working and finishing up school I stopped taking time for myself. At my heaviest I stopped remembering what I used to look like. I wanted to start putting myself first and make some changes to my life by stepping back from social media and working on my time management. Its been an amazing year so far. February 10th this year, I started my own workout routine that helped me lose 9 inches off my waist in 7 months. My workout is 5 days a week and I try to meal prep all of my meals with foods I believe to be healthy for me. I never knew this was going to work, but I had to give it a try. I used the top pictures from 2015 only because that is the one dress I kept which showed a good reflection of where I started at the beginning of 2018. I hope this will help anyone looking to do the same naturally.

This last 6 month’s I’ve been on a bit of a voyage of self experimentation.
What level of fitness can you achieve whilst working 80+ hours week up and down the country and having extremely limited gym access?
Aesthetics are by and large a result of having a noticeable amount of muscle mass and a low body fat percentage, pretty achievable with basic bodyweight stuff and an eye on your nutrition.
It’s a bit more complicated.
But the principles aren’t that different.
Be adaptable, work with what you’ve got, don’t let other people’s excuses alter your reality (but also be realistic), and by and large... Put the work in.
I wasn’t completely satisfied with my performance at the @nationalfitnessgames last night week, feeling pretty burnt out after a long season. But after a few days off...
I’m more than excited to get back in the saddle.
