The last 7 days training have been 👌🏻 .
Saturday. 9 mile easy @parkrunuk sandwich making sure the ankle was ok
Sunday. Rest and time with the family
Monday. Club run with @pbcoachuk hill work and improvements all round. .
Tuesday. Rest from running so a core strength session on @fiit .
Wednesday. Most importantly the wife’s birthday so an early long run of 14miles. No interest in pace just time on feet but the pace was 👌🏻 refuelled with a lovely takeaway treat with the amazing wife. .
Thursday. Rest day
Friday. 2mile best efforts x2. Took this to the track to give it my all and bloody smashed it (even if I do say so myself). 7.4 miles total. Tonight will be another stretch session on #fiit
AND THAT IS ME DONE! .
So happy with this week and this is against a really tough backdrop with work and illness in the family. But take the pressure off yourself and have a flexible training plan anything is possible. .
If you had presented runs like this to me on Monday night I would have said it’s not possible. .
Do what you can and when you can. But most of all DONT BE TOO HARD ON YOURSELF!.
#happyfriday all. What are your weekend plans?
A dream becomes a goal when action is taken toward its achievement. - Bo Bennett • Dreams are all fine and dandy, but if you never make that move to turn them into goals, why bother? Get out there, take that first step and do something that scares you.

It’s all coming back to me now.
Slowly getting back into the groove over here🏃🏻♂️
In 2016, I started running as a (semi) fun way to burn some calories and lose weight. I was never an “athletic” person, but I decided to try Couch to 5k for the 3rd time. I was hooked.
In 2017 and (part of) 2018, running was my barometer for my body image, mental health, and self-confidence. If I had a “bad” or “slow” run, I’d pick myself apart until I felt worthless. I didn’t feel like my body was “good enough” to call myself a runner, no matter what the scale or the mirror told me.
and then I got injured. and running was taken away from me for a moment. something shifted. I still have issues with my body (and tbh probably always will 🤷🏻♀️), but I’m also incredibly grateful for everything my body can do and everything it has done. I’ve learned the power that a positive and joyful mindset can have, in all aspects of life.
And I wrote a really big long blog post about it (link in bio, woo!!). It was scary and hard, but it’s done. It’s what I think my past self could have needed, and if one person out there appreciates it, I’m content ✨

It is important to consciously coordinate the hands, legs and core muscles to unite them in harmony. But the most important thing is to fill up a motion with emotion, with the love of sports and the joy of freedom of our body. 🏃🏻♀️📍Budapest, Hungary 🌍 #RunningTerritory (📷: @irunmom) Follow @RunningTerritory for more.
Emotional discomfort is blanketed by fatty and sugary foods and alcohol or drugs. Discontentment with status is masked by an appeal for social attention. Anxiety-stricken because of a loss of direction, people dive deeper into spending and accumulating materials: “This is what others have. This is what makes them smile. I am like them. I smile with them.”
It all comes down to comfort.
This place, comfort, reeks of death: a victim-mentality. When a person falls into comfort, others living in it, those the person aligns with, become models and justifications for weakness and mediocrity in that person. Justification.
He justifies his emotional discomfort as stress; it’s just a part of life. Everyone else has it, after all.
His discontentment with status is handed to him by others who were lucky enough to be dealt a good hand. His coworkers, his boss, the wealthy, the government: everyone holds him back but himself. If only things were different, he thinks.
His anxiety summarizes the issues of his world; he is lost in pursuit of accumulation of comforting things. It’s what he’s been taught, this empty pursuit to fill the void of discomfort.
Zion has some heart-stopping hikes and trail runs, including Angel’s Landing (but DON’T try to run the last part!) and the Narrows, but this trip we just might have discovered our favorite trail of all: Canyon Overlook Trail.📍Zion National Park, Utah 🌎 #RunningTerritory (📷: @livehardxlovehard) Follow @RunningTerritory for more.
