I missed my workout yesterday as I had a bit of foot pain in my right foot that was enough to cause me to put an ice pack on it and elevate it in the evening. I was still going to go to the gym a little later, but my daughter had a need for homework assistance, which is really rare for her, and by the time we got done, I felt it was more important to rest for the evening. Part of training is allowing time to recover, right?
So today I hit the gym over my lunch hour, and even did a little track running, but nothing fast. Best part: no foot pain! I think I aggravated my foot from being out late Saturday night wearing uncomfortable shoes! Sometimes a girl has to wear shoes that are just plain cute, what can I say? 🤷♀️

✅ Crunches with 12 lb dumbbell (45x4)
✅ Dip Assist (30 lb) (10x4)
✅ Chin Assist (30 lb) (10x4)
✅ Push-ups (no knees) (25x4)

✅ Feet elevated sumo deadlift-clean-single leg lunge 10 reps x 4 (10 lb kettle bell)

✅ Russian twist crunches (15 lb KB) (15x4 ea side)
✅ Feet elevated glute bridge w/15 lb KB (15x4)
✅ Track run - easy (800 meter)

I’ll admit, not a lot of running today...but my training program doesn’t officially start until January 27th, so I’m just trying to stay healthy and strong in the meantime! Nice little evening barf session at the track. Last week I did 7x600m averaging around 2:19 on a soft surface track, today was 8x600m averaging 2:18 on a hard track with more wind. Always try to progress a little week over week in the build up to a race, whether it’s going faster, longer, or reducing rest periods push hard to make yourself a better athlete while making sure to take time to rest.
