The moment when you handled your baby and coffee at the same time, thank goodness your older one was occupied with the 35mm Wooden Toy Camera 📸 😉it’s a win win situation 🙌 #tbthursday 👉 thank you @viktoriyachuprov for sharing the cute photo with us!!
I’ve already shown you two of my mom’s old cameras. This one was hers as well, and is in some ways the first camera I ever had. It used to live in a small suitcase kept in my grandparents attic. Grandpa would get the box out whenever my brother and I visited for us to play with. It was full of fun toys (most of which I think my brother has now) and although we never had film for this we took “pictures” of everything. It made a satisfying click and if you got bored you could chew on the handle (we were pretty little). This bright green box is a 1950 Savoy Snapshot, made by the Herbert George company (like the Happi Time). When Herbert George was taken over and renamed Imperial, they continued making this same exact camera but with new branding and name, and a slightly modified front. The Savoy is a simple
Bakelite box, shooting 620. Easy to use and load, but about as basic as the Happi Time (though made much more solidly). This is the camera that made me love cameras way back when, and I’m very happy to still have it today. #herbertgeorge#classiccamera#oldcamera#savoy#vintagecamera#stuffinmystudy#cantstopcollecting#collection#imperial#madeinusa#stuffmymomsaved#toycamera#the50s#greenisgood
I posted yesterday about posting old stuff but then I realized technically I only have old stuff. That's kinda how shooting film goes unless you develop as you shoot. I rarely get film developed. I have a big bag of it at home that every weekend, I tell myself I will pack it up for mailing. It's been weeks and it's still on my desk. I keep adding to it and the thought about how much it's going to cost to develop crosses my mind. It sits for months. I guess I should go back to selling prints to fund my hobby. This is from last summer and it's similar to another one I posted. I like cats though so you will see them all eventually.
