My good friend Val had her house warming party last night and she asked for me to make 100 of these.
Val is one of those people that genuinely cares about others and tries very hard to support her friends.

After a bit of a frustrating year dealing with some friendships that just have failed to recognize and appreciate all the hard work that goes into my baking, I've gotten a lot more mindful about the people in my life.
Support for your friends comes in many ways. Not just purchasing the product that they are putting out. It could mean a simple follow on instagram. A little mention in your other circles. It could mean saying less unkind things to their faces like " Hey, I got a quote from another baker for this but it's too expensive so I was wondering if you can make these for me instead". It happens waayy too often BTW!
I've talked to so many bakers who experience this with their friends who don't take their work "seriously" and what it ultimately comes across to us is that " As your friend, your work is not valued and you would rather exploit our efforts than support us"
The silver lining always is messages from friends like Val who say " Can you please include your card and social media handle with the cookies so I can make sure people know this is from you" or my friend Jen, who has a pinterest board and constantly sends me inspiration images of what my next project could be about.
It's the little thoughts that count and it means the world to us!
