🎾After Match Routine🎾
Regardless of winning or losing, there’s a few things that you should ALWAYS do after you play a match. You have to make sure you’re ready to play you’re next match (or delay the super long car ride home 🚙 🕚🏠 after a loss 🤷🏽♀️)
So I just wanted to give you a few reminders of what your should be doing to make sure you’re taking care of your body and/or setting yourself up for success in your next match
1️⃣ Eat - Playing tennis takes a toll on your body (whether you win or lose) so you HAVE to replenish all the nutrients that you lost. If you have another match, keep it light with salads with chicken or a half sandwich. But if you’re don’t for the day, pasta is great choice!
2️⃣ Stretch - Stretching is key to help prevent soreness and maintain flexibility, so you want to do this soon after the match. Make sure you pay special attention to the areas that are sore, breathe though each stretch, and make sure that you are hydrating while doing this as well!!
3️⃣ Journal - Reflecting after a match is super important, especially if you just lost. Take the time to figure out what went well, what went wrong, and what you would do differently if anything at all. This will give you some insite on things to be aware of during your next match or things to work on during your next practice!
Let me know in the comments below your favorite meal/food to have after a match!
