These two, that light and beach vibes (minus the freezing water 😂)
Had so much fun adventuring with these two and listening to their love story! I think I heard “I love you” 3784 times and it just melted me to the core. I can’t wait for their wedding in June and to hear “I love you” 3784 more times ❤️
It’s been a perfect last Saturday off before wedding season starts up next week. I started my morning off with barre class, came home and made lunch, deep cleaned the apartment, took my pup on a walk around town, checked out some local shops, and treated myself to a lavender latte and the most ENORMOUS donut. I didn’t intend for today to be a self-care day but I leaned into it hard! Thinking I should take myself out to dinner tonight too. 🥰 How do you self-care?
Totally missed yesterday’s Leave No Trace post due to prepping for my first engagement session of the year! Today I thought it may be good to catch up and cover two LNT principles- 5 and 6! 🌿 Principle #5 : Minimize Campfire Impacts. 🔥 This is SO important as fire is one of the biggest dangers to the outdoors. We all witnessed the destruction from fire in Gatlinburg a short time ago. @leavenotracecenter suggests cooking on lightweight camp stoves for dinner, using already established fire rings if fires are permitted in that area, and making sure you keep the fire small and burn the sticks completely to ash. Of course, always double check to make sure the coals are completely extinguished. 🌿 Principle #6 : Respect Wildlife 🐿 If you see wildlife while out hiking, it may be tempting to feed them or try to approach them. Observe from a distance, do not feed them, and when camping, make sure to properly hang your food bag out of reach of bears or other critters. It’s also important that if you bring your dogs on the hike with you, to be aware of where they are or keep them on a leash. Snakes and other animals could be harmful if your pup finds them before you do! 🌿 #LeaveNoTrace
The gorgeous and lovely Mrs. Ali just after the vail was placed and we were getting ready to head out to the first look. I cannot decide...color or B&W? They are both so stunning to me!!

Go ahead and enter on @emilyfrazierweddings ❤️❤️ or just peruse around. 🙈 I’m giving away some dope Bluetooth noise-cancelling headphones! Also this is one of my favorite photos from last fall. The hug of a first look is one of the tightest and cutest.

There's a time in the day that most photographers just loooooove photographing. It's called the "golden hour." 🤓It's one hour after sunrise or one before sunset. This is when the sun is just low enough and everything is getting an orange-y gold glow to it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Photographers love this because the gorgeous colors that come through, sun flares, and it makes skin look softer for portraits. It's a verrrry flattering time for photos.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Now. Y'all know I love sunsets. But I actually love what happens afterwards even more.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
My favorite time of day, is actually the "Blue Hour." This is one hour BEFORE sunrise or AFTER sunset. (aka Dusk) It's when things are progressively getting darker and darker as the day transitions straight into night. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
To me, this is a super beautiful time and it's when my little artist brain is inspired the most. I love seeing the blues come through and the mystery dusky veil it casts over things.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I don't often do portraits at this time because the darkness makes it complicated to get things in focus without a flash. And the flash honestly ruins the beautiful softened colors that come through.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
But, sometimes, if you time it right, you can get some beautiful soft and moody portraits at this time. Like these with Anna and Chip. I feel like the gentle light really brought out the gentle love between these two. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
