This was my end of year gift to each of my students in 2017. Last year I read Wonder to the class, then went to see the movie on party day. It was so special to be able to share the experience of reading a book before seeing the movie! My favourite moment was when we came out of the cinema and one of my reluctant readers told me ‘The book was better’ 😍😍
The Gratitude Project ☀️I love this class project because it allows students to investigate the idea of gratitude and how they can show and give thanks in their lives. Perfect resource with thanksgiving around the corner 🌈✖️Link in profile @rainbowskycreations ✖️

Part of my why!! Part of the reason I strive to be the best teacher for my students is because of this guy! I always think about what kind of teacher I would want for my son. Teach your students like you would if your child was in your class! He isn’t my only why but think about it...what is your why?! Why do you do what you do?! I would love to know 👇🏻 #teachersofthegram#iteach6th#teachersfollowteachers#whatisyourwhy#teaching#iteachtoo
I asked my class to write a letter to welcome our buddies. I fear this particular one may scare them.

Do you ever just feel like running away for a bit? Just to breathe again? ⠀
There are actually benefits to getting away for a break to help avoid stress related burn out⠀
Cortisol is released when you are stressed and these cortisol levels do you damage over the long term so reducing stress is a very important part of self care and wellbeing ⠀
The number one way to reduce your stress is to escape. It gives you a chance to switch off from what’s causing you the stress and gives your body the opportunity to recover, so coming on our Bali retreat makes sense ⠀
You may end up as happy as this 🤩⠀
These TORTOISE SHELL acrylics with ROSE GOLD MIRROR TOPS have been popular this week!
Lightweight and a medium size for those that prefer smaller dangle earrings!
Remember to put Code: CHRISTMAS in checkout to get 20% off when you purchase ANY 4 pairs of statement earrings! Offer ends this Friday.
I’m still in school next Monday and Tuesday so I’ll be pulling out every possible engaging game I can think of to keep my class on task! ✅🦃 This game is called Thanksgiving Dinner. Each time the kids get an answer right, they get to add a piece of food to their plate! Super fun and the kids always enjoy it! 🙂 #mathcenters#mathgames#iteach345

Place Value Scavenger Hunt :: the students had to find specific numbers in magazines and then write those numbers in expanded form. This made for a perfect independent math station last week as we reviewed for our check in. And for some of the higher students they challenged themselves with expanding large numbers they found, such as 2018. 🎉
Aka my Thanksgiving break plans... come Wednesday • Double tap if you can relate and tag a friend who can level with you on this one too! • And let me know how you are looking forward to recharging over break below (👈🏼 says the teacher who tells her students to never start a sentence with “and” 💁🏼♀️) #thanksgivingbreak#letterboardquotes#adulting

I could make a long, long list of all the things I’m thankful for about my year one of teaching. #15263 is perhaps a bit random, but very special all the same. In each of the staff bathrooms my principal keeps lovely smelling soaps for us to use when we wash our hands. What may be a seemingly small act of kindness and generosity is actually one of the kindest reminders that our administration cares. I am thankful. 🎉
Looking at our displays and artworks from this year and not wanting to take any down! No idea if I’ll be on Year 4 next year, let alone this classroom, so the tear down must begin!

Some days are just going to be more difficult than others and while today was by far not my fave, I can rest easy tonight knowing that tomorrow is a brand new day to love on my babies and teach them all the things. In case this hits a little closer to home to your situation, please know you aren't alone. You've got this. 👊 📷: @letterfolk#teacherproblems#teacherproblems#teacherlife
I am definitely not a Photoshop expert, but I think our gratitude photos turned out so cute! I took a picture of each of the firsties holding the blank sign, removed the background, layered them onto a fall backdrop, and added a textbox. I can't wait for them to see their pictures on Monday! 🍂❤
🧡🧡🧡 Absolutely loving how our Thanksgiving door turned out!! Each student got a feather to write about what they were thankful for. Then a couple of eyes, a beak and a gobbler (isn’t that what it’s called??😂🤷🏼♀️) later, we had ourselves a turkey! This was such an easy way to make our hall feel festive! Idea from @teachingspecialthinkers. Thank you @laurenb43 for sending me the inspiration!✨

I have wanted to do this since I saw @cutiepatwoziehq and her poetry cafe last year! We sure love Poetry a-Latte! ☕️ 📚
Today was a BLAST and the kids loved ordering their punny poem drinks! We listened to jazzy Christmas music and had the ADORABLE cups donated. @leahdawn93 and I vertically aligned our poetry clusters and despite our relentless spelling mistakes last night, made the menu chalkboard, and @buffyou made the amazing choice board. We enjoyed hot cocoa/apple cider and candy canes along with our poems. The poetry books are a collection of other teachers’ favorites and you’ve never heard more excited kids read poetry! 💚 Now I need a more grown friendly beverage to recover. 😜
