Every day when I wake up I ask myself,"What can I do today that my future self will thank me for?". Being that I am in recovery, my answer usually begins with feeding myself, not purging, joyful movement, and things of that nature.
It has been raining for almost two weeks now and today when I went into the garden, some of my plants that had gone brown had miraculously turned green! I had just talked about digging them up and replacing them because I've been nurturing them for weeks but apparently not enough. It needed a downpour for days to return to it's original beauty. So it is with us. My body has been in starvation mode for years and now it needs a downpouring of love, nutrition, and kindness to restore my setpoint back to normal, to return my hair back to the thick, long, beautiful hair I had as a child, to restore color and luster to my skin. We are like the gardens in nature. We need nurturing or we wither and die. A little bit of water won't do. My garden is now abloom in an abundance of lively colors like I've never seen before!
Do you owe yourself a downpouring of love and nourishment? Is your body starved for nutrients because you're eating 'just enough' to pass scruntiny? Your body craves food and nourishment on a regular basis. Be kind, be gentle, be generous to yourself during the healing process. We will function so much better internally and our bodies will repair themselves as nature intended. Nature has a way of knowing what we need. Make it easier on your body by not restricting what it craves to grow and you too, will soon be radiant and glowing as nature intended.❤️

Life is a journey as they say. We each have our own special stories and moments, challenging times and times full of possibilities that makes us who we are today. •
My journey so far has been a mix of all of it. Ups and downs, highs and lows. Things I am proud of, things that I failed at too. They all make up who I am today. •
I was alway the kid growing up that wanted to help everyone, take care of everyone, protect everyone. I was alway acting like a mom, even in kindergarten. •
It’s no wonder I ended up at a very young age in a service industry. I was a young women working at age 16, I would work nites, work weekend, sometime 30 hrs a week plus, while still in highschool. It was like I found something that gave me purpose. Connecting with people and mostly women who I was able to make feel good, give them a moment to relax and take care of themselves. Who knew that was just the beginning of a 25 year career in the Beauty and wellness industry. Who knew that I would spend a lifetime being of service to others. •
I’m excited that I am working on lots of new things and hoping that in helping others find there way in the world with a sense of balance and self love I can continue my journey of being of service. •
I believe that women have so much more than we ever did on our plates. We have our careers, our relationships, our families, our partners, our hopes, our dreams. I DO believe there is a way to do it all and still have time for yourself, your family, your partner and your hopes and dreams. •
I believe that working hard with purpose is needed, but working harder does not make you more successful if you are not doing it with direction, passion and intention. I believe that finding a TRUE balance in ALL the parts that bring you JOY will help you feel more connected in a way you never have before. I BELIEVE that we women get to write the story of how we want our lives to be and what that future looks like.
Our bodies are not the only thing that needs self-care. Our soul thrives when it is replenished with love, gratitude, and connection.
Look around, and discover short brief moments that can replenish your soul. Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Change your daily commute into a beauty guide by embracing what is around you, identifying 5 new things each day that you define as beautiful.
Help someone, from your heart, not expecting anything in return. This may show up in simple ways such as holding the door, carrying a bag or visiting a senior in your life.
Have a date with yourself. Spend an hour doing something you love that replenishes you such as a walk in the park, a massage or whatever it is that brings you a sense of serenity.
Ask for help. Far too often, we are afraid to ask for help and try to carry everything on our shoulders. Know that it is safe to ask for help, and even gives others the opportunity to experience their “feel good” moment.
What is something you like to do for yourself, that replenishes your soul?
Share your thoughts below and maybe we can all learn a new idea for how to embrace self-care.
Peace, love, and pear!
One of the things that makes Kauai Juice Company what it is, is the vast array of fruit and vegetables that thrive here on Kauai, also known as the Garden Island. We created our menu based on the plants that are abundant locally and seasonally! This means that our produce is at its peak of flavor, and nutrition, when we juice it. It also means we get to support as many local farmers as possible. Starfruit, also known as Carambola, is one of a Kauai’s most generous and unique offerings. It gives excessive amounts of fruit, two times a year!!! Keep your eyes peeled for this tropical treat on our specials board, like the Rockstar, because starfruit season is upon us and it’s a juicy one but it’s short, so drink it up! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
If you read my posts you might of noticed a couple this past weekend that referred to cancer. One was a benefit for my friend and the other was about my Grandma that past away. I got the news about my Grandma right before my rotor router (stomach scope and colonoscopy) was getting ready to start. What most people fail to recognize is prevention is key when it comes to fighting cancer and regular checkups can save your life. And since 2005, my rotor router has saved my life several times. We live in a society where we don’t discuss poop but everyone does it and to prevent colon cancer and other diseases we should discuss it more. So I’ll tell you this, a healthy colon is one that moves on a regular basis, in other words you should 💩 at least once a day, ideally more. This movement keeps your colon clean, void of toxins, void of build up, helps bloating, and helps your weight. Colon health is very important to your overall health!! Personally, I drink 100% Aloe Vera juice everyday, it’s my natural cancer prevention. Not only does it help my colon, but it helps my whole body in so many ways and makes me feel great! I swear by this stuff and many of my friends are starting to drink it from my recommendations and testimonials. If you want to know more, just ask! I love helping people feel good, especially if it can help a friend in cancer prevention. What do you do to prevent cancer? **These statements are my personal opinion and are not approved or supported by the FDA. I am not a doctor nor do I portray myself as one. Do your own research and learn more. And always remember that the health/medical industry is a service industry, you do have the right to tell your doctor no or find another that will give you alternative solutions. But always remember doctors are only trained to prescribe medications or do surgery. #cancer#cancerprevention#howdoyoupreventcancer#colon#coloncleanse#coloncancer#colonhealth#colonhealthisimportant#colonoscopy#colonhealthawareness#aloevera#aloeverajuice#aloeverajuiceeveryday#aloeverahealing#aloeveraforthecolon#naturalhealing#takecareofyourbody#doyourownresearch#beproactiveinyourhealth

We have all been here—we start in a great position 👍🏻 (what we think is neutral, picture 1) and then slowly slump forward (picture 2). In picture 3 you see my shoulders completely come forward, 😖 and the rounding of my back is pronounced. I'm simply hanging on my skeletal system. 💀 Eventually the strain becomes a little too much on our back, so we take a quick break to stretch out (picture 4).
This is all occurring because it is very hard to find stability while sitting. The biggest problem is that I cannot squeeze my butt 🍑 in this position, and if I can, it still does not do its job, which is to put my pelvis into position. I also cannot create torque at my feet. Remember, we try to stabilize from the ground up, 🔝and if my connection to the ground cannot find stability, then I will definitely have problems as I try to stabilize further up. I can tighten my abs, but I am still searching for where to be. I start seeking tension by hanging on tissue and skeletal system (thus I begin to slump forward). Now my psoas is shortened in order to keep my spine in position. 👎
Many of us cannot completely avoid sitting (whether it be for classes 📚 , or for your job) but there are a few things we can do to keep ourselves in the best position possible!
1. Take breaks! Stand up, stretch, walk around. Then you'll be able to reset and find a better position when you sit back down. 👍🏻
2. Try sitting on the floor! Here you can sit with your legs in criss-cross-applesauce 🍎(I used to say this ALL the time in kindergarten) which helps put your pelvis into position, which helps you find neutral at the spine. You can also stretch and move a little more on the floor than you can on a chair.
3. Most of all, be aware of your position. It's ok to be here sometimes, like I said, we all do it, but try to minimize it as much as possible! 😊
We're in the studio working on something new today that we can't quite announce but I will tell you it's a new product and I am so excited about it!!! We want to know, how many oils do you carry with you at all times??
When was the last time you took a walk instead of driving? Or took a ride on your bicycle? In addition to stimulating your heart a bit, you're doing just a bit of exercise each day that is great for your heart and your disposition! Try it this week.
“Healthy” Snacks VS an ACTUAL meal!
I have no issues with nuts, or snacks even. But everything in moderation right?
Snacking on nuts is a pretty tough task, and takes a ton of discipline!! ✋🏼
How many of you are guilty of inhaling an 100 gram bag of nuts?!
Nuts have always been one of my downfalls!
They do have a variety of nutrients, but they are also a very dense calorie food. Plus if you’re not paying attention to all of the NASTY additives: hydrogenated fats, “natural flavors” and sugar that are added, it can throw a HUGE wrench in your game plan!
Eat snacks that are lower in calories, it will really help with your portion control!
My handful size of Pecans- 60 grams
My meal prep of wild salmon + eggs + ALL MY VEG = tomatoes + green beans + sweet potatoes 🙌🏼 + leafy greens!
This is just some food for thought for those of us who enjoy snacking on nuts.
I’ve come to find out that I really love heavy ball slams. Not only do they warm my whole body up, but it also helps get rid of any aggression that I have built up in my system. #stressreliever#warmup#slamit
I won’t be dressing like this for my walks very much longer. Afterall, I live on the Prairies! 😉 I found this photo from a beautiful vacation in BC last spring and it reminds me of how important it is for us to get up and get moving. Our bodies were not meant to be idle...I enjoy several different types of exercise and movement...how about you? Share your favorite in the comments ok. 🤗 #gracefulaging
