This photo pretty much explains the way my swimming feels right now... survive and see how many age groupers I can track down on the bike and run.

Sooo I stepped out of my comfort zone and participated in a triathlon.
Success! No falling off my bike, kept moving forward on my run and we can forget about the swim. Just grateful swimming was the shortest amount of time.
Also happy to run into @rgallupe along the way.
Upon completion was handed a nice cold non alcoholic beer... didn't matter, it was delicious. And finished off the experience with poutine.
Thanks Jen for picking this event. .

Race Day 2:
4th overall and 1st in my AG.
A few fun things of note from today:
- swimming upstream is tough. 🐟
- realizing your brake pad is rubbing and having to do a little bike maintenance while riding is not ideal... But doable! 💪🏽
- I saw a deer almost take out a cyclist right in front of me. That was crazy! 🦌
- having @materialambition there to meet me at the finish line, priceless. 💕

If you don’t #challenge yourself, you will never realize what you can become. #quote
As a #triathlete I spend a lot of time on the bike by myself. This amazing bunch of people @tagcycling taught me about camaraderie, trust, confidence and drafting. So it was time for my first Fondo (like riding very close to someone you don’t know for 100km, 5400ft elevation gain) #tourdevictoria
I managed to stay with “my” pack for 40min. Then my free spirit broke loose and the ride that was supposed to be fun turned into a race. I cycled hard, not smart (aka not drafted of others) but for the first time doing this, I’m super happy and grateful for the experience. 5th in my age group. 17th of all women.
I’ve been on this endurance sports journey for nearly two years now and this weekend I finished the Spartan Beast race in Breckinridge. Like all endurance events, you learn a lot about who you really are and how far you can push through he pain and fatigue. It was not by any stretch easy nor my greatest endurance accomplishment. However, it was my favorite.
Getting to go through it all with my brothers, two of the most important people in the world to me, made this event something that I will never forget. Not only did I learn about myself, but about the amazingly strong men that I have the honor of calling my brothers. I love you both very much! Thank you for sharing this amazing day with me. You are both, completely BADASS!!!
Those pre race jitters can make or break you. As my brother can attest from waiting for my wave it’s a mental back and forth that you MUST get under control. A voice of anxiety that is totally imaginary and false and a voice of reason that knows you’re capable and ready. Been blessed to discover some character builders in @teamfroglogic and my wife @marysdailydose It’s discipline and thought clarity that make this attractive. The sport is just the Channel. #swimbikerun#thought#anxiety#discipline#ironmantraining#steelhead #70.3 #swimming
Finally got the confirmation that I’ll be heading back to the start line in Kona come October 13th.
A big season with 2 x podiums and a 5th place over the Ironman races solidified my place in the top professional field.
Super happy to be taking Tinley on her first overseas trip to Hawaii 🤘. And @larisa_jc knows the place pretty well already, having raced there a few times herself!.
Massive thanks to my awesome family and team of supporters. 👊.
A big 8 weeks of training coming up! .
Capped off a brilliant weekend with my first 50 mile ride. Cycling is such a meditative, restful way for me to clear my head and create the energy I want to manifest for the week ahead. I try to always do my long rides on a Sunday for this reason.
On my ride today, I couldn't stop repeating song lyrics from a song I listened to quite a bit last week- "I am a miracle made up of particles, and in this existence I'll stay persistent and I'll make a difference and I will have lived it."
Hope you all had a great weekend and the week ahead brings a smile to your faces. 😁
