We love having worked with sustainable designers like @motherofpearl from our sustainable fashion show in London. It’s amazing, especially as we enter into a new year and think towards the future, to know that wonderful brands dedicated to environmental conservation exist and produce great designs! 🙌 • photograph from @motherofpearl
Do you dress with confidence?
My clothing confidence comes 100% from knowing where my clothes comes from and the possitive impact they have on the World.
I was never a “cool-girl” but I always liked putting outfits together.
But I never really wanted people to notice or comment on my clothes because I didn’t know what to say.
Now I know, and talking about what I wear is the Best.
Because I wear my values every day!
I know that this shirt is organic cotton and made in a Indian factory that Wins prices for their working conditions.
I know that this cardigan is second hand.
And I know that this jewlery is neither slow nor fairfashion, but I’ve had it forever and by wearing it over and over instead of replacing, I am hindring the materials and the Labour that went into them.
Shopping sustainable can be the biggest confidence boost - have you felt it?
I love the silhouette of a peplum because it never fails to hide a food belly and you can always count on it being flattering!

My treasured ones.
This is my collection of absolute favourites. Some were thrifted, some were cheapies worn on special days & some were handed down from my grandparents.
If I could wear every one of these babies all at once I so would.
...however that’s just a little too extra for me 😂
Happy FriYAY dreamers! Hope the weekend embraces you with a welcoming open arms! 🧡

How is it Friday already?! As we head into Friday night drinks make sure you either say no to the straw (if you don’t need it) or pack your own @kappi_life straw for said occasions. It’s small actions that can make the biggest impact. Just take @kappi_life’s Short Straw campaign they ran during plastic free July last year... they ran the numbers and worked out that on average busy cafes use between 50,000 - 100,000 plastic straws a year. So if only 10 cafes switched to using reusables, or if your BYO straw, that alone would potentially remove 1 million plastic straws from the waste stream annually.
It may be the small things, but together they can easily become big things ♻️💫
Meet the Maker💕
@vancouverislandcove My name is Belinda Pierik and I am a lover of anything home made or repurposed .
The past few years have been a wonderful journey in discovering my passion for sewing all over again and listening to what clients really love.
Sewing with cotton and linen for the kids clothes and leather and felt for the handbags I’ve created make the the pieces unique and comfortable . The leather is purchased through a local supplier . Ive taken up making leather aprons for blacksmithing and would be tickled pink to see them on a few coffee baristas as well as a hairdresser or two ....guy or gal who loved puttering in their garage or just someone who thinks wearing a leather apron is cool .😊
Thanks for listening .

It was pretty hard to take this picture, especially when I had to take about hundreds of them until I was satisfied 🤷♀️ But, I really want you to see these colors together, so here it is - rust, salmon rose, rooibos tea and chestnut ☺️
Time to finally reveal the maker of this jumpsuit: @matterprints !
Matter is based in Singapore, and they work with traditional blockprinters and textile artists throughout Asia to bring raw materials to life, with unique, time-honoured patterns handed down through families. Each pattern has its own provenance.
I've been a longtime follower of Matter, (and I own a pair of their pants), so I immediately said yes to trying the newest colour of their jumpsuit in all different climates! I've been a fan of this jumpsuit for a LONG time, especially because you can pee without taking it all off!
It felt appropriate to walk through an art museum while wearing what feels like a wearable piece of art - but one I honestly want to wear for days! I popped on a belt to tie this whole look together, and there are so many other looks I'm amped to try 😊
I can already feel that this'll be a piece I wear to bed, to work, out in the summer, and under a cozy cardigan. 👌🏻
And it launches very soon! #partner
When we first moved to Montana this bar would do ‘ladies night’ every Thursday where our first drink was like a nickel then the rest were free. We’d drink top shelf whiskey all night and that bar would get pretty darn rowdy. A few years later the place has gotten a makeover, we have a few kids and things are different...still really magical (better in a lot of ways) but different. #rambling

I’m working on some exciting things behind-the-scenes over here this month. So pleased to be creating three new articles for print magazines (Details to come) and remembering that sometimes publishing can just be one project that takes a few days versus an entire book that takes a few years. That difference of duration and scope continues to surprise me.
Yet these beloved jeans have been mended nearly a dozen times over five years so they are always a work-in-progress. A journal in patches and stitches. Some mending takes a few hours and some takes a few days. Then a few more days, a few years later.
As I continue to mend these jeans I’m more committed to their repair. Time and handwork add value I cannot replicate in purchasing a new garment. They’ve earned these patches as I chased a tiny toddler up Oakland sidewalks and through city parks and then a second tiny toddler through Upstate NY fields and forests and in our own backyard. Makes me a bit teary, to be honest.
So value shows up as money, of course, but also as time and skill and handcraft. Not to mention emotional attachment. What if our clothes were like amulets and talisman? Journals and autobiographies and memoirs? What if our stitches and patches were symbols of experiences and adventures? Gaining grace with each repair. Honoring those symbolic smile lines for just what they are—proof of laughter, love, and joy so deep it carved lines. #visiblemending#lovedclotheslast
