If this isn’t enough motivation to get up and start walking the Camino de Santiago early, I don’t know what is.
Fortunately, you don’t have to wake up too early. The sun rises quite late in October in northern Spain. This photo was taken at ~9:00 am.
Day 3 has been my favourite on my self-guided tour w/ @caminoways. It’s been the most scenic so far and I had that “a-ha” moment I was hoping for. I don’t want to say too much but I will say that I came up with an idea for a book that I want to write that I’m very excited about!
That’s one of the reasons that I enjoy hiking by myself - you come up with insights that you wouldn’t if you were talking the whole time.
It’s very easy to meet people on the Camino though and I do chat with others occasionally, but I also relish the silence and the wisdom that comes with it.For me, a self-guided tour offers the best of both worlds.
