“Education must enable one to sift and weigh evidence, to discern the true from the false, the real from the unreal, and the facts from the fiction. The function of education, therefore, is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.”— Martin Luther King Jr #MLKDay
✨HYPNOTHERAPY FOR KIDS + TEENS✨
When working with kids + teens, I use a variety of techniques to empower and help them master fears, learn new skills, or cope with stress + anxiety.
One very effective technique, clinical hypnosis #hypnotherapy is an innovative and effective way to engage a child’s internal resources to solve problems.
Similar to mindfulness meditation, hypnosis utilizes many of the same relaxation principles, but in a targeted, goal oriented way to address a specific issue.
During each hypnosis session with a child or teenager, the foremost goal is to have them walk out feeling more confident than ever – feeling as though they can do anything that they set their mind to do! 🙌
With hypnotherapy your child will:
* do better in school
* relieve test/performance anxiety
* release perceived failures
* improve attention
* overcome fears
* learn to self-soothe
* build self-confidence
DM me if you are interested in learning more about hypnotherapy and how it will help your child to overcome fears + anxieties and create confidence and solutions for success!
All of our kids deserve to feel their best! 💓

Such high levels of achievement aren't such tall orders at @NDAsd. Probably because we put a lot of focus on #STEMeducation. We open new opportunities for #studentsuccess in the arts (the A in #STEAM), such as music and visual creativity, and French and Spanish language classes. These are few of the approaches to #wholechildeducation that NDA students experience from day one through graduation. Parents who are new to SD, or interested in private education, can learn more about the awesome opportunities for your children by visiting www.ndasd.org.
Wake Up! Get Up and celebrate the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr ALL day at Michigan State University!! Many many events are taking place. Swipe to view these opportunities.
In my final years as an elementary educator I would lead my 5th grade students through a close reading of MLK's famous I Have a Dream Speech. It was incredible the thoughtful & inquisitive thinking & conversations that happened among those intelligent 10/11 year olds. They read between the lines even more than many of us adults might do. Maybe it's because we related it to something really relevant in their lives as Seattle students- all loyal fans of @dangerusswilson 😉💙💚 - but regardless they were ignited with thought & passion. They were not silent. They were willing to talk about things that matter.
"Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matter." -Martin Luther King Jr.
Dr. King inspired people. He made them feel brave and strong and made them believe they could make a change. It can be hard for one person to change the world on his own, but when many people work together, they can make a big difference!
Ms. Alderks and Mrs. Throckmorton's 2nd grade students created art using Martin Luther King's words that inspired them.

And there we go again! It was the Poetry Out Loud finale on Thursday the 17th of January 2019! This time, since it is the Multinational School's 20th anniversary, our poets took this opportunity to express their sense of love and appreciation for their school. They wrote some outstanding poems, where they shared their experiences with teachers and admin staff. Some poets wrote about their good days when they were at their best and how they celebrated those days with everyone in the school. Others shared memories of their tough days when they faced challenges and how everyone was there to help and support. All in all, it was an event full of poetic talents, warm feelings, and recitational skills.
Please enjoy the pictures that show how dedicated and talented our poets were.
I'm all ready for the new semester tomorrow!! 👩🏻💻💁🏻♀️📝
I plan on waking up at 7AM & working out for half an hour before getting ready & going to university. I think I will work out this semester on Mondays and maybe Thursdays so I can accomplish my goal for 2019 of having a regular exercise routine. 🤓 I only have classes Monday & Wednesday, then a club activity on Thursday.
I still have not been able to land a job yet, but once I do, I plan on working Tue./Th./Fri. & one day on the weekends. 😊 My mom is making me work 20 hours this semester at my job along with school, so we'll see how it goes. I personally have never worked & gone to uni before, so I'm a little nervous... but I've always had good time management skills, so I'm not too worried.
👩🏻💻 Question: When do you guys go back to school? Are you excited for another semester/term?
It's tedious, but medical notes are crucial for patient care. You can use these abbreviations to make the process of writing them much faster. Still in school? No problem. They can be used while you're studying too.
