July 24, 2017, this is a picture of the place where it all happened. A girlfriend and I planned a dinner out followed by a movie. When the movie ended we hugged and said goodbye and went our separate ways.
I returned to my car and sat in the drivers seat. I instantly felt a heavy wave come over me. I sat there thinking, I really didn’t want to return home. I didn’t want to return to the demands of my family. What if I just drove off?
When I finally returned home I fell apart. I remember laying on my bathroom floor crying because I had finally hit the bottom. I remember my husband trying to comfort me the best he knew how. He kept trying to get me to come to bed. Honestly, I felt molded to that floor. He brought me a pillow and a blanket and sat next to me. I remember looking up at him and stammering out, “I need help.” He agreed to help me to do what ever it took to help me get better.
For the next year, I worked with my therapist to get through my many layers. She helped me identify my triggers, and how to handle them head on. I opted to do this medication free. It was not easy, it hurt to expose all my wounds. Some days were harder than others, but I got through the thick of it and emerged on the other side.
I look back on my year of recovery and if I could talk to my former self, I would tell her:
You need to make time for yourself. You need make your needs heard. Don’t worry about having all the dishes done, the house cleaned, laundry folded, you don’t need to do it all. Delegate things out, ask for help! When you feel overwhelmed say something don’t push aside the need for a break, you have a husband talk to him it will strengthen your relationship. Find something just for yourself to do once a week. Don’t use your time away from the family to do family stuff do for yourself. Make showering everyday a priory. Lock the door when you go to the bathroom you deserve to do your business in private. Change your clothes every day! Get out of the house and go for a walk. You are a woman and you are just as important as everyone else in your family. Love yourself as much as you love your family, fight for yourself you are important and you are loved.
Oh my gosh, you guys, I checked in this morning with one of my challengers, to ask if I could shout her out for her amazing results over the past 4 months.
She sent me these pics and I'm blown away! She started our brand new weight loss program on May 15 (where exercise is optional!!), and joined my June, July, August (and is now in my September ) challenge groups. She has lost over 20 pounds (during the SUMMER!!! With all the camping and parties and get togethers we all have going on !!) I asked her how the groups have helped her, and this is what she said : "The accountability is good, def has helped with exercise. Also, I like setting a small goal and accomplishing it. It's like the 2 pounds at a time from 2B, setting a goal I can reach during the challenge helps keep me moving." She has even gotten her mom on the bandwagon and has helped her lose weight this summer, and has sent two of her friends over to me for help on their own weight loss journeys. Amy has had to log 3 workouts per week for the challenges (and those can be anything from a squats when she has a time crunch to a full workout with her Beachbody on Demand subscription), and now that she has lost so much weight, she says it's much easier to get more workouts in. She also mentioned how much easier her every day activities have become.
Share some love with Amy and congratulate her on her success! Consistency is key, as she would be the first to tell you. We text each other every single morning, and help each other get in the right mindset for the day-- her weight loss has totally inspired me to become more focused on my own choices, and I have lost 3 pounds this week, myself!

I am super pumped to announce that we, at Ballet Physique, are starting an online streaming program to bring our in-studio workouts to anyone anywhere! Here are a few teensy clips of several exercises you can do at home, but our online studio will provide full workouts. We're building an online app full of high-quality exercise videos where you can experience our method and connect with our instructors. You'll simply log on to your streaming device, computer, or smartphone and select from an assortment of 10, 20, 30, 45, and 60-minute classes. Pick your focus, pick your instructor, (pick me!) and off you go. .
Here’s the important part; we are currently crowdfunding for the funds to put on such an endeavor, so if you’d like to be a part of this, check out the link in my bio! Even a few bucks gets you free videos and perks so... might as well. Kickstarter is an all or nothing platform so we’re really hoping we can meet the goal and proceed!

One thing I love about offering streaming workouts is that you can do them anywhere! We are all on the go and busy. Being able to get some feel good movement in at home is so important! Do you like to workout at home or go to the gym or a class?
Throw back Thursday. Look at me on the left. What do you see? A Mom smiling while out on a hike with her kid and dog. What a beautiful sight.
Here’s what really lying under this photo that you don’t see.
💔Me a day after my three day mental break down. Yes, I did not leave my bathroom floor for thee days.
💔See that dog, he is there because he is my service dog. His pack? He is carrying my medication. I could barely leave the house that day without being short of breath from anxiety.
💔See my smile I am fighting back my tears because I was scared of myself for failing my family
💔I was self medicating at an unhealthy level
💔I was unhealthy, after this hike and like many others before it, I would go thru a driv thru order food, stuff my face and finish it before I got home...which was less than five minutes away
💔I was so tried, I could have slept all day
💔My marital relationships as suffering because I was always on edge
💔I was angry alll the time and over some of the smallest things
💔See that boy, he is happy but he deserves more from me and I was just barely hanging on to myself.
Now, look at me on the right, what do you see? Time has passed and you see a Mom out on a hike with her kid and dog.

❤️ See that dog? Your right he’s not there! He is still my service dog, he does not need to carry anything. He still needs to do a job for me now and then, but not everyday and not in the same way.
❤️See that smile? That is a real smile coming from within, it can not be faked.
❤️I am healthy from choosing real foods and making smart healthy decision
❤️I have so much more energy
❤️My marital relationship is better because I am a better person
❤️I can say I am truly happy and I don’t sweat the small stuff
❤️See that boy, he has his mom who is there for him, plays games, hikes, encourages him and guides him to be the best he can be.
