Valentines Day is a great holiday to celebrate your appreciation and affection for the people you love in your life. For some of us hard core fitness enthusiasts, it might just be another day in America where we can pig out on chocolate and wine. 😋😋😋
Love in a relationship is no different from your love for fitness. If you are able to understand the similarities, maybe you will be able to become more patient, loving, understanding and attentive to the people you love.

Do you count steps?
While I think the smart watch/step tracker movement is one that gets everyone more focused on their health through activity (and that’s a great thing), we should aim to focus on quality versus quantity.
NEPA (non exercise physical activity) is a great complimentary piece to an active lifestyle, we still want to get heart rate increasing forms of activity in on the daily. Cardio can help create a calorie deficit and thus accommodate a weight loss program but it’s key benefit is helping us maintain a healthy cardiovascular system which should be EVERYONE’S goal.

43of365. Didn't even have the energy to post yesterday, so I'm surprised I managed my steps!
In my mind I've always imagined commuting as fun.. I have no idea why. The past 2 days has been a shock to the system. I don't know if it's still tiredness left from moving last week but I'm exhausted. Coupled with pmdd/pms insomnia, I feel completely spent of all energy systems. I really miss my 30min bike journey.
Fingers crossed next week I'll feel slightly less dead than I do now, but if not, I can't carry on like this for long. .
Dreaming about sunshine and Pi. It’s cold and rainy today so I’m struggling to get in my steps but I forced myself to walk the dog tonight. We (dog and kid A) went 1.8 miles and the bottom fell out of the sky just moments after we got home (though I must say the wind and rain picked up the last quarter mile). I’m easing my body back into motion and focusing on getting my steps on. Never mind the handful of cookies I’m eating every single day. Baby steps. So after 5 years of service my old FitBit Flex finally gave up the ghost (charging it 4 times a day is not on my agenda).
I decided to upgrade to the @fitbit Charge 3. I love that it is not only tracks steps but is a watch and shows me my text messages, phone calls, and some app notifications.
I considered going less fancy and more fancy but this was a good middle of the road. Plus it is way more fancy than the original Flex.
I’ve had it for a week and I can’t believe I didn’t upgrade sooner.

How many of y’all still abiding to resolve those resolutions we made there a month ago?? I didn’t necessarily make New Year’s resolutions this year. I just set some obtainable/realistic goals, if only I just keep my head in the game I’ll be good to go!! Move more/sit less, stay consistent with my strict (strict as possible) keto plan, and try my best to get in at least 10,000 steps every day. Yes, some days it’s not as possible as others. Am I at fault, is it beyond my control, could I have done better???? Probably all 3 all at the same time...sometimes. But you know what?...Not Gona sweat it, or beat myself up over it. Just Gona try harder tomorrow...and if I keep trying harder tomorrow then eventually I will meet my goals, because I’m being consistent with my plan this time instead of tapping out when I don’t loose 10 # every month like in years past. HOW MANY STEPS SHOULD YOU TAKE PER DAY?? 👣
Before we get started here, please understand that *I know* walking is healthy & certain recommendations are set in place to encourage people to be more active 👏🏼 .
However, this one goes out to those of us who think in black & white, have the “more is better approach” and are always trying to follow every single fitness and diet rule absolutely perfectly... bc Lord knows if we don’t, we’ll just die, right!!? 🙈😅 (and yes, I’m being serious here!☝🏼)
Sure, walking is a great thing, but in my experience in working with lots of type-A, perfectionist type people, the need to always hit certain numbers, push their body beyond it’s limits, and let their whole life be controlled by self-imposed “rules,” can be a really dangerous & sad thing. 😝
If you’re one of these types of people, my biggest tip to you is just CHILL OUT 😎 there’s no “magical number” to hit, more is not always better, and honestly, doing TOO much walking can really exhaust you both physically (& mentally). 😑
Yes, it’s great to move your body, but it’s also great to rest, relax, watch lots of funny movies and get out of the health & fitness obsessed world 👟🏃🏼♀️
And on the flip side, if you literally NEVER move your body, you know you’re not too healthy right now & you could use a little exercise, get outside and enjoy the sunshine, take your dog/kids/friend on a stroll around the block and get the blood flowing a little bit (but even you don’t have to get crazy with it!) 👋🏼 (cont’d below 👇🏼)
Do you workout and NOT happy with the way you look?
I usually always talk about “starting” an exercise program and the importance of taking care of your health but today I want to talk to a certain person....the person who keeps “trying” to get results. Starts and stops over and over again. The girl who goes to the gym and is just convinced she isn’t getting results cause of her occasional drink or some chocolate here and there. That used to be ME! (Btw i can’t believe I found this outfit to do this side by side!) So here is the thing.....
YOU CAN still get these results having drinks or eating your favorite snacks BUT you have to KNOW what you are doing when you work out and do the right types of workouts AND it’s CRUCIAL you eat the right types of foods the other 85% of the time! And also, it didn’t take me that long to get those results! It took about 6 months!!
I have been there girl! I was so inconsistent and I DREADED working out! It’s pretty amazing when you are SURE you are doing the right stuff and eating the right stuff cause guess what, you start to get the results you always dreamed of! And you know what else? When you get those types of results you don’t STOP and consistency is SO key! 🙌

Who says you can’t get hotter with age?😉. I mean, the picture says it all! Cigarette in hand, and anything that would numb my mind! I was SO insecure and my emotions were all over the place.
