On Friday night, I woke up early to sleet hitting the window! By the time the sun came up, it was no where in sight!
We read Snowflake ❄️ Bentley and then got started on our crafts! These always turn out so cute! They are one of my favorite winter activities!
Caught this display in my school hallway! (I wish I had created the activity!)
My students have been building robots that create art!! We have been learning about potential and kinetic energy over the past month and we spent the past few weeks building circuits and exploring insulators, conductors, and switches! These artbots were a perfect way to start wrapping up the unit and tie everything that they have learned together! This is the first STEM unit that I will have taught start to finish and I’m so proud of how much they have learned!! #artbots#stemteacher#creatingart#robots#stemeducation#socool#robotsthatart#fourthgrade
We have a new math intervention period at the end of the day and it’s been SO powerful already! Friday during intervention students were grouped with other people who missed the same quiz problem that they missed. Without any help from me, they (A) figured out the correct answer and (B) taught it to anyone else in their group who was still a little uncertain. I just gave them the problem and said “GO!” but they broke out the whiteboards, drew models, explained to each other, and checked their own work. Such a #proudteacher moment! 😍❤️✖️🧮📚📝
I L O V E everything about this accountable talk bulletin board by @headoverheelsforteaching •
The colors match my classroom perfectly! I think this is a sign that it’s time for a bulletin board change!
My first #teacherfeetupfriday in a long time!! •
I’m so grateful for a three day weekend! I definitely need this time to recharge and refill my positivity tank. I’ve been struggling to see the good in my days. Anyone else been having a difficult time being back at school?
End of the year means it’s time to reflect: what risks did you take this year? What went well? What flopped? I find that reflecting on my teaching practice is the most exciting part of my year. I can’t wait to read this book and use these practices in my classroom next year! #teachlikefinland

If you were a student in my class, you’d probably think I’m obsessed with cupcakes! 🧁 I use cupcakes for all of my examples.
We’re working on writing opinions. They are doing a great job giving their readers convincing reasons!
