🐝 An amazing start to grade 4 & 5 Maker Club! 🐝 The challenge was to design a chariot that would safely carry a small wooden person and be pulled through an obstacle course with a Blue Bot! I did not know how it would go.... but it was a hit! 😁The Makers Loved designing that chariots and testing their durability! The simple coding was a great additional challenge too! 🤖 #bluebot#beebot#beebots
👥 How to teach empathy?👥 Interviews can be a wonderful tool for students to build empathy! We often invite in community members for interviews! Before the interviews we prep students, brainstorm possible questions and create a list, and practice asking them. We found its best to have students work in groups of four with 2 interviews, 1 videographer, and 1 greeter.
We have been busy after school making our way thorough @rozzylearning Stem Career Adventures! Last week students presented to be architects to design buildings inspired by food. This week we are working through the book Alice the Architect and tomorrow my 2nd graders will be making a model of a rooftop playground or animal home. Have you heard of @rozzylearning yet?! I am so excited to continue to share materials with you as a Rozzy Ambassador! #rozzylearning#stemeducation#stemeducationforkids
*New blog post!* 📚
Today I'm starting a 5 part series on the skeletal system. I'll be sharing our favorite activities and resources from this unit. In part 1 of 5, I'll show you how we created this bone model.

This was a another great activity to show our children the complexity of our bodies. I stand in awe of our Maker's hands🤲. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:14
Qarışdır🥄🔎🔍Bir çox maddə suda həll ola bilər. Sadəcə toz halındakı qatı maddələr deyil, eyni zamanda mayelər və qazlar da suda həll olur. Bəzi maddələr isə suda heç həll olmazkən, bəziləri qismən həll olur. Bəs, maddələrin həllolmasına suyun temperaturunun təsiri varmı? 🤔💡🔎 Şəkər tozu - həm soyuq həm də isti suda tam həll olur.
Duz - Soyuq suda qismən, isti suda tamamilə həll olur.
Qarğıdalı unu - Soyuq suda qismən həll olur, buludlu görüntü verir. İsti suda isə topa- topa olur.
Soda - Soyuq və isti suda qismən həll olur.
Duru yağ - isə nə soyuq nə də isti suda həll olmur.
Boyali su - həm isti həm də soyuq su ilə asanlıqla qarışıb həll olur.🧪🧬🧂⚗💡🔍 #balacaalim#ilkelmitecrübelerim#stemeducationforkids#laboratoryforkids#kindergarten#uşaqbağçası#детскийсад#balacaalimferqi🤓

... and Digital Technologies! I’m doing the dream teaching role this year, Specialist Teacher for Digital Technologies & Science (PP-6). Oh, the “STEM” possibilities!! 🤖I’m on the hunt for all sorts of cool ways to integrate the two & others I can connect with who are doing the same!!😊🙌💕 #scienceteacher
Our ILP Incubator program will incorporate an updated structure which includes new Incubator roles that will allow students 13-18y to select one or more focus areas for personal development as they contribute towards defined research topic areas. For those interested in learning more, join us for our next information session: bit.ly/2AV7Gfv (or link in bio)
🤔What? How? Why? 🤔We use this observation technique from the @stanforddschool to help scaffold students thinking from concrete observations to more abstract observations. We show students different pictures or videos and the. Work through the chart together. This is also a great way to address assumptions we have about our subjects!
⛩Another awesome grade 7 early technology prototype! ⛩these students created a water wheel that would pick up water from a lake and then transport it through a pipe to the village! And it actually worked!!
🧚♀️ Some of the amazing fairy houses and playgrounds our Kindergarten designs created for the fairies! 🧚♂️ I just love to see what the kids come up with! .
Students created the houses out of clay using the pinch pot technique, they used our wood working tools to create some of the playground equipment, painted the wood and fired clay with liquid water colours and then added embellishments to finish it off!

👥How to teach empathy? 👥 Before we design something for a user, we need to gain empathy. Empathy is when you can feel what another is feeling... even if that user is an animal or mythical character. 🧚♀️ As part of the empathy building process, we use a number of techniques. One technique we love is empathy maps! What is the person doing? What are they saying? What are they thinking? What are they feeing?
Merhabalar 😊sizlerde evde Scratch programı kullanarak kod blokları ile eğitici oyunlar tasarlayabilirsiniz. Dokuz yaşındaki oğlum Alp Arslan , kardeşi için isminin baş harflerinden oluşan eşleştirme oyunu hazırlamış çokta başarılı olmuş ellerine sağlık 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Very close to Madrid we have great engineering works of...the Romans!! Some toys of this Christmas invite us to learn from that time, and also remind us of the lucky we are to be able to visit these wonders 😊😊😊😊 Además, el Parador de Turismo de Segovia tiene una piscina climatizada con acceso para toda la familia (los niños nunca tienen acceso a SPAS 🙄), así que pasar allí una noche se convierte en un plan de fin de semana perfecto 👌👌👌

⛩This awesome prototype was created by two grade 7 makers as part of the early civilization project! ⛩ Students created a game-changer technology that would change the lives for people in their civilization! These students first built their prototype with LEGO and then moved to balsa wood.

Goal: bringing STEM focus school to Evanston area.
Pumpkin Balance Scale! For #mathsonmondays I made S a simple scale with a board and a mailing tube. We then weighed pumpkins! S practiced moving the pumpkins to either side, watching how the scale changed. We practiced math language like: more, less, heavier, lighter, and weigh. He loved it each time the scale would drop to the other side. He would get the giggles. 😂 Don’t have a mailing tube at home? Try a round water bottle, paper towel tube, soup can, or oatmeal container. Don’t have scrap wood? Try thick cardboard or a shallow storage container. Give it a try! 😊
