I will start by assuring everyone I have approval to share these sweet faces! Today we got our materials for our STEM/Maker’s Space station! The excitement was REAL! 🙌🏼 Thank you to all the amazing people @donorschoose who put this AMAZING website together to help teacher fund projects for their classroom! It feels so amazing that there is a community of people supporting our efforts! To the donors of my project....I could never thank you enough!! #iteachsecond#iteachtoo#stem#stemeducation#makerspace

Throughout her long career, she has been able to correct many misconceptions about chimpanzees.
In 1977, she co-founded the Jane Goodall Institute for Wildlife Research, Education and Conservation. Today this institute is a global community conservation organization. 🖤 link to the website for the Jane Goodall Institute is in our bio !
Who cares if classes don’t start until Monday? Members of the Colorado Space Grant Consortium were on the Pueblo campus Friday to teach students (and our STEM Center director) how to create electronic wearables. Students from PCC, Adams State, CSU-Fort Collins, Arapahoe Community College and other schools made the trip for this fun workshop. This is the second time PCC has hosted the event. Thanks to everyone for visiting! #STEM#bling
I wanted to take a cool photo for my last day in the lab, but my phone was dying and it was hitting the 12th hour so this is what you get hah. -
It was a seriously long experiment yesterday, it actually did take me 12 hours (8.30-8.30!) from start to finish, I was doing antibody titrations as my last experiment and my plate plan was just huge so it took our outdated, almost 10 year old flow machine 3 hours to get all the data, lol I hope I don’t have to repeat it!! -
So unfortunately I never got to look at NET levels in MI patients 😭 my optimising just took too long, my experiments kept not working so I had to repeat them a million times until they did, I guess that’s just science, I’m hoping I’ll get to do a small project to explore this more, because if I don’t do it someone else will and I wanna be the one to do it! NETs are a very new area of research, and currently there’s not much info about their impact in heart attacks and that was the end goal of my project, I just first had to get a good protocol going. I’ve only just got it going now, but I’ve run out of time since my thesis is due in less than 2 months 😭😭 -
I’m sad that my honours year is coming to a close, I’ve learnt a lot and gained more confidence in myself than I ever thought I could. I didn’t think I’d like being in the lab this much either, turns out I love it, 5 years ago me could never have imagined I’d be in this position now. She could never have imagined that I’d finally have good enough grades to apply for med school or a PhD, she never imagined that she’d ever be good enough for this. Turns out 5 years ago me was wrong. #justkeepbelieveing#theimpostersyndromeisstillreal#science#gradshool#honours#postgrad#medicine#premed#cardiacresearch#cardiology#futurescientist#futurecardiologist#futuredoctor#stem#stemwomen#womeninscience#smartwomen#scicomm#dedication#goals#motivation#justkeepworking#hardworkpaysoff#itssoworthit#vegan#love#life#career

Wednesday Middle School STEM Students had CO2 Car Races! Winfield Middle designed their cars and created them using a 3D printer! (Pictured: the orange car is plastic; the blue car beside it is traditional wood.) 🏎Overall, the 3D printed cars were faster, however, in the final race, the fastest 3D car raced the fastest wood car with the wooden car winning by thousandths! How awesome to see individual student design cars both traditional and 3D printed! 🏁 Way to go Putnam Middle Schoolers! #PutnamProud#STEM
⚡️Flash back Friday ⚡️ On mission for Pacific Partnership 2013 with USS Pearl Harbor. We spent 6 months in the South Pacific providing humanitarian aid to nations in need of food/water, infrastructure, security needs ect while strengthening partnerships with allied nations. •
Seen above: I was awarded a Navy and Marine Achievement Medal for designing new electrical cable irradiating the need for auxiliary diesel fuel, saving the Navy some money (millions). Coming up in the Navy Ive always been challenged with fluid, out side of the box, innovative thinking mentality. Find a more effective, cheaper, better way of doing business and it will be entertained. •
I remember coming home from deployment feeling like I made a difference in the world. It also solidified my love for this country and how grateful we are to live in such an amazing country. To the core of my being, I love the United States of America.

#TuskegeeUniversity has been selected to receive a $600,000 grant from the U.S Department of Defense that will allow faculty in multiple departments to study #aerodynamics phenomena over a three-year period. The project is expected to yield an advanced understanding of how to control an aircraft by using unconventional techniques, like thrust vectoring, as well as the study of computational aerodynamics techniques. It also will support the university’s efforts to recruit and retain undergraduate and graduate students interested in these #STEM fields — and provide them with hands-on hashtag #research experience. Eagles day and Friday ➡️ woah is all I have to say
This fun day has got me feeling tired. Works that way most of the time, right?
Today we did a STEM activity, building towers with marshmallows and toothpicks. It was a great success. And only a couple of marshmallows were eaten off the floor 😬
What Friday fun do you look forward to each week?
