I’m asked why I love film so much all the time and I can never think of what to say other than “it’s just prettier”. I know film is so much more than that, but for some reason it’s always been hard for me to put it into words.
I recently had a conversation that encouraged me to try and this is what I came up with.
Film almost has a soul to it. It’s luminious. The way it soaks up light, produces creamy smooth skin tones, and renders color reminds me more of a painting than a photograph. It’s an art and it’s expensive and frustrating at times but every time those scans hit my inbox, I’m reminded of why I fell in love with it all over again.
Something I always like to tell my couples is that the sillier they feel, the cuter it looks 😜 don’t be afraid to goof around and be weird!

I’ve been wanting to share more about my fellow creatives that promote a sense of community and encourage me either from afar or close to home and @lburks915 with @braid_bar_sta is one of them. Our children have grown pretty close over time since our daughters go to school together. I’ve watched her produce amazing work with every client that comes along and she always gives it her all along with an authenticity we so often crave. This is your gal if you’re looking for a magical braid on your wedding day or event. Go give her a follow. 😘
Cheesin’ hard because today, it’s year 26.✨
Guys, I actually forgot my own birthday this year. That’s how busy we’ve been the last several months. Yesterday was the first time I thought about it - at 10:00 yesterday morning, I thought huh... I think J forgot to tell me happy birthday this morning (Should’ve known better... He never forgets). I had to check my phone to realize it was actually only the 22nd.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve always said once I reach 25, I don’t want to get any older. 25 is good, thanks anyway though Lord. It seemed like all the good stuff happened before you hit your thirties and then it was just downhill from there... or so I thought anyway. Man, was I wrong. I realize now that I’m only just getting to the really good stuff. Life with my sweet husband and learning to be a team on the daily as we take on this self employment thing in our twenties, growth in my walk with the Lord, new experiences and traveling the world, and especially the years where I now understand my parents are truly my best friends and yes, they really were always right. So I’m retracting my statement - I’ll take another 75 years of this, thanks Lord.❤️
Lovely, clear night enjoying the Nights of Lights downtown. If you want some romantic pictures, now is the time when all of the crowds are gone, you can practically have the place to yourself! The lights will be up until February 3rd, so there’s a little over a week left to squeeze in a quick session and make it a date night! 📸💡 #nightsoflights
I brought this handsome babe on a shoot with me this evening. I wore him on my back while photographing a pretty momma and her baby girl. He had So. Much. Fun. He also loved having full access to my hair, and there’s a solid chance i have some bald spots. But worth it. Love my little assistant.
Hey friends! I know I have been MIA lately, but I am still here! There’s been a bunch of changes going on here with my business and personal life. I will be sharing some of the changes soon!!
It has been such a crazy start to the year already! Is anyone else with me on that!? I hope y’all have been having a great year so far. 😊
Ps. This is probably one of my favorite dress shots to date! As soon as I saw this spot I knew this is where I was going to hang the dress!! 😍😍
Just having a day of thankfulness for all my my clients/friends who trust me with such important moments in their lives. You guys seriously just make my soul so happy!!!
I've photographed her granddaughter several times, but I was so excited when Sherry told me she wanted to do a photo shoot for herself. We had so much fun planning all the little details, and I just love all the personal touches she wanted to incorporate. I think my favorite would have to be the romance novel her friend wrote!
On the day of her session the ONE thing we weren't prepared for was the freezing cold weather and a wind that felt like it was blowing right through us! Although I had on a thick sweater I could barely feel my finger tips at one point. We actually decided to take a break mid way through the session and sought shelter in a near by building. While we were inside defrosting, we ran into the most magical lady who led us to a cafe with Starbucks coffee! My hero!! This was just the pick-me-up we needed to warm our souls... and hands!
Happy anniversary to Sophia and Jay!
There’s just something about shooting in the trees up North. I fall more in love each time I get the chance to head up there for a session!
Meredith! Y’all have seen her face quite a few times in my feed with her new hubby Matthew! I was there for their proposal, their engagement session and their wedding. I am so incredibly blessed to have been a part of their special moments. They were my last wedding of 2018 and I couldn’t have ended the year in a better way♥️
First looks always hit me hard in the feels 😭😍 Mike and Tina are the absolute sweetest. Just found out their now having a baby!!! So glad I got to meet these two a couple years ago and so dang excited for their next stage of marriage 🖤
I mean... okay!🔥😍
~~ Excited with making some of our travel plans for this year. This is a throw back when we traveled to the Amalfi Coast. It really was stunning & pics do not do it justice. Do you have any bucket list places that you plan on traveling to or are working towards going to ..? ~ ~ Comment below.
Talk about open roads! It was awesome to just ride and look at all the beautiful landscape around us. The roads dip and curve with the flow of the terrain. Sometimes we just stopped for no reason other than to get out and admire the scenery. #explore#nevada
I have some bare walls I want to fill with these sweet faces. #twinsage4 ❤️

Engagement session giveaway winners Nicki and Ryan were so sweet and naturals in front of the camera. I can’t wait to share more from this shoot!
Running into the @miller.bros was a total accident, but a happy accident! Carrie + David wanted some photos with a vintage van when we traveled out to Cali for their wedding. We had actually saw these guys at the gas station right before we went location scouting at Pfeiffer beach. Low and behold, they ended up there too! So David, being the awesome person he is, asked if we could grab a few photos with their van. When they said yes we were pretty dang stoked. They moved the van and got it all set up. We chatted about their travels, got some ridiculously cool fun photos, and then these two tied the knot the next day 🖤

Let’s play the COMPLIMENT GAME ! (Idea from @ockeydockey - THANK YOU!)
Hit “reply” to the person who commented above you, and leave them a little sweet message of lovin’! A small compliment or just encouraging words go a long way in my book.
We’re all on this silly little app together, so why not spread some kindness and maybe make some new friends?
K? READY? GO! 👇🏻
Let’s love on someone today🖤
Kicking off 2019 with a gorgeous wedding! Ian + Emily said “I do” today at the Club Continental in Orange Park. So thankful to have captured one of my college friend’s special day! Posting more on Facebook shortly so make sure to like our page! Excited for this year! 📸💍♥️
