What brings people to yoga?
This was a question that one of my students brought up after my morning class yesterday. We had just ended our closing mantra and were all preparing to leave when she brought up this thought provoking question.
What IS the driving force that brings people to the mat? It was a question I had not thought about before but I think the telling truth is is that the reason for WHY you come to yoga will be different for every single person.
I came to yoga seeking peace of mind and a strong foundation for my sobriety and recovery. Others come to yoga looking for truth, fitness, Wellness or just for a sense of community. Regardless of your WHY, yoga serves some purpose for you which I think we should have gratitude for. There is an intrinsic pull that brings you to your yoga practice and whatever the reason, we should celebrate it because regardless of what your practice looks like, your doing something that betters yourself and your soul.
