Here’s some Easter content for you 🐣🐥🍫 •
Overdone the DIY , decorating or gardening 🌿 this bank holiday weekend? Got shoulder pain? This post may be relevant to you ⁉️
This muscle is part of the Rotator Cuff group and works alongside the Infraspinatus,Teres Minor and Subscapularis. •
Supraspinatus Action: abduction of the shoulder, it also helps hold humerus up in the glenohumeral (shoulder) joint. •
Common signs and symptoms include: - pain increases when reaching out in front of you
- Pain after frequent, repetitive overhead activity (shoutout to my swimmers 🏊♂️🏊♀️ painters and decorators, gardeners, fast bowlers🏏)
- Weakness in abduction and forward flexion
- Pain in bed when laying on shoulder
- Painful activities of daily activities like brushing hair, dressing, housework, shopping
- Restricted range of movement due to pain •
Also note its common to get pain in your bicep tendon in the front of your shoulder with a supraspinatus injury. *see second picture* if the supraspinatus is weak and not pulling its weight in holding up the humerus 🦴 in its joint then the bicep has to cut the slack 😤 having to do two jobs at once is never ideal and usually leads to bad performance... 📞07759630479

The iliac crest is the most prominent part of the ilium, the largest of the three bones that make up the bony pelvis or hip bone.
Pain in the iliac crest can also radiate to other areas of the body, including the back, abdomen, and groin. The location where it is felt depends on what is causing the pain.
𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗰 𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹?
The pain may spread down the leg, through the buttocks, and into the groin. In some people, it can lead to dull aches in the back or buttocks or sharp muscle spams. Others may experience pain when walking, while bending or twisting may make it worse.
Tenderness and swelling can also be signs of iliac crest problems, particularly if caused by trauma.
The first step to managing most types of iliac crest pain is RICE, an acronym standing for:
Dry needling (DN) is an intervention utilized by physical therapists where a monofilament needle is inserted into soft tissue in order to reduce pain to improve range of motion/ motor control dysfunction.
Dry needling is used for targeted trigger point which radiates pain in gluteal and back area n mimic the same pain as of low back pain and piriformis syndrome.
A cryo facial offers an instant cooling affect to hot flushes you may be subject to… the cold air on the face soothes away any aggravated, angry facial flushes to leave you feeling relaxed and cooler. At the same time the cold air is invigorating and revitalising, leaving your skin tingling and refreshed.
There’s no greater feeling for me than feeling calm yet energised now I’m contending with the symptoms of the perimenopause, and a cryo facial is the perfect pick me up to cool and stabilise my fluctuating hormones and support me through this current life phase!
Finlay Gilroy showed all of us @sdrrehabuk his ability to demonstrate hard work through dedicated periods of concentration and focus in all of his sessions today.
Finlay struggles with long periods of concentration, finding it difficult to maintain a thought process around a given task. There’s no mistaking he’s a very intelligent young man, but often, Finlay is inhibited to sustained periods of focus as a result of his misplaced concentration, leaving him unfocused and unmotivated.
Adapting various methods of communication throughout our sessions I can generally set the tone for the sessions and tentatively draw out small periods of ‘good-quality’ work based around controlled, movement activation patterns.
You will see within this clip Finlay has not only achieved some great work, but he’s initiated the moments in a controlled manner based on my visual and audible cues throughout. Which is fantastic to begin with, but furthermore, it was a maintained effort during most of the sessions, which for any child is great, and for Finlay, an even greater achievement.
To say Finlay delivered today is an understatement, in the focussed periods Finlay was exceptional and I hope he can sit back and watch this clip of himself working very hard and be immensely proud!
Because we are incredibly proud of you Finlay. 💪🏼😎🙏🏼
