THIS IS A SPECIAL MOMENT! 1 year ago today, this special couple and good friends of mine helped me to pursue my dreams in capturing the beauty of the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony when I didn't have any wedding experience. I had this immense desire in my heart for Catholic weddings and knew the Lord was calling me to remind the world of the love that still transforms the hearts of many; a love that leads us into a deeper, covenantial bond with our spouses and the Lord. I reached out to this beautiful couple, told them about my mission and thanks be to God, they were excited to be a part of this new chapter in my film work for the Lord! I can't thank you enough for trusting in me knowing how big and special of a day your wedding was haha. It was a blessing for me to be a witness to such love, let alone create something that you both can cherish forever. In an age where the family and marriage is being attacked on such a high level, it's an honor for me to work for God's Kingdom in this way. I am eternally gratful to our God, because you guys were the beginning of God's plans for me and now I'm providing many other couples with the same gift and being a witness of God's plans for all those called to the vocation of marriage. I pray that the Lord may continue to bless you both on your journey heavenward! All things are possible if you only believe, so remember that God is on your side and you will become saints! Just keep allowing yourselves to be lead by the Holy Spirit! Much love guys, sincerely, your brother in Christ, Justo! @xluna_px@nelsoncortorreal 🙏🏻❤

“Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world.” John 1:29 The Eucharist is the source and summit of our Catholic faith! We truly believe that the Lord meant what he said in telling the crowd, “unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you.” There is nothing more precious on Earth than being able to receive the Lord every day, especially on your wedding day, on the day you and your spouse become one flesh. May we continue to profess and defend the teaching of the faith just as the early church fathers believed and died for in defense against early heresies. Our Lord said to do this in remembrance of him and thanks be to God we haven’t abandoned our Lord til this very day 🙏

Happy Saturday everyone!! It’s a super warm and sunny weekend here (definitely feels like late summer), filled with editing photos for me and dissertation writing for Matthew (have I mentioned that on top of being an amazing husband and father with a full time job he is ALSO working on his doctorate!?! I don’t know how he does it!) John is playing with blocks and Grace is crawling around and getting into John’s toys. (Still learning to navigate this whole ‘baby crawling and destroying toddler’s toys’ thing...it’s new for me). It’s so nice to just be at home. My lawn is mowed. My flowers are watered. Laundry is....well laundry isn’t done but is it ever really done?? What are you up to this weekend? Any fun plans? I’m working on @behurley’s engagement session from last weekend and I’m so excited to share it with you all soon! Here’s a sneak peek of her GORGEOUS ring! I hope you all have a fantastic and rejuvenating weekend! #fireandgoldphoto#fireandgoldbride#fireandgoldcouple
When the princess finds her prince! This is how she smiles 😊 It has been 2 years since their #disneywedding and we're loving to see their family grow! I love you guys!

It’s our 2 month anniversary and I’ve been thinking a lot about our wedding!
One of my favorite parts of our wedding day was that we were able to have our wedding celebrated in Church on the Solemnity of the Most Holy Trinity. We were able to incorporate our faith into the whole day and I do firmly believe that it is that same faith that kept me sane leading up to the wedding and that has helped us adjust into this new period of life. Some of our fondest memories of our mass were consecrating our marriage to Mary, having the homily recorded so we can listen to it whenever we want, having most of mass said in Latin, and being able to incorporate incense and bells into the mass to have it be more traditional. .
It was so important to us to have a simple wedding and to share the day with close family and friends. No fancy decorations, no showy centerpieces, nothing over the top.
When picking our “vendors” we decided to pick friends and family who are so talented! Our photographer @samantha.michelle.photo Is a very dear, talented family friend who I actually used to babysit when she was little! Our decorations were made and set up by @onehappychicknj Who is our next door neighbor and a beautiful person!! Our florist was the husband of one of my Coworkers and some of the sweetest people you’ll ever meet! My make up was done by @shop.fiatlux who is one of my best friends and someone who always challenges me to grow in my faith! The other makeup artists @belezaartistry and @glamgelamua are good friends too! It was such a blessing to be surrounded by people we love and care for and to be able to shine a light on all their talents! .
Anyway! These 2 months have both blown by and also felt like an eternity! Being married is such a blessing. Sometimes more challenging than we anticipated, but it’s nothing a lot of prayers, nerf guns, and water guns can’t solve 😂

You guys know that feeling when you’re opening up a Rice Krispies treat. And you try your hardest to avoid touching the treat because once you touch it you have marshmallow fingers the rest of the day. So you have to use the wrapper as a shield. But the wrapper has a mind of its own so you kind of accidentally eat the wrapper a few times. But it’s totally worth it to avoid marshmallow fingers. Because same.

“All my own perception of beauty, both in majesty and simplicity is founded upon Our Lady.” - J.R.R. Tolkien ...Happy Feast day of our Blessed Mother Mary’s Assumption! •
So thankful to finally get to celebrate my first Solemnity as a married woman today. Most of all, I’m thankful to God for not only sending me a husband who understands and appreciates my love for the Blessed Virgin Mary but who inspires me to love her with even more ardor and devotion. Fidel’s genuine devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary were (and are still) one of the qualities I admired the most about him when we were dating. In fact, when I first met him he belonged to a group called “Legion of Mary Association” at St. Anne’s Catholic Church in San Diego, CA, where he dedicated a lot of his time to reading Marian books, praying the rosary daily, and sharing his knowledge and love for the consecration of “Jesus through Mary” to local families in Southern California as a form of evangelization. Praying that now in our marriage we will continue to keep this devotion at the center of our relationship because we know that no one knew and loved Christ more than his own mother here on Earth. ‘Mary teach us to love your beloved son with your own heart.’ ♥️🙏🏼 📿 All for Jesus through Mary! ☝🏼Something you probably already knew about women: We need to work out our thoughts/ problems/ ideas through words. We need communication, we need to “talk it out” with another person.
Fun fact about men: They process things by going into their “mental cave” and working things out on their own, with time.
A lightbulb might have just gone off in your head if you thought about all the times you wanted to “talk things out” with your mans and he’s said “just give me time”. If he’s a good man, it’s most likely not because he’s trying to avoid you, ignore your feelings, or ignore the problem. The man literally needs time to process things. They might need to watch a show first, they might need to take a mental break. And then on their own, when they’re in their thinking space, they’ll reflect on whatever situation that went down that you found so vital to solve right in the heat of the moment.
Long story short, I’ve met many seasoned wives in my day and I admire them greatly. Why you ask? Because they understand this. No one wants to be the typical “nagging wife” and being that, doesn’t seem to get us anywhere anyway. Men can better look at situations and analyze their faults when given the time to do it on their own, instead of us hounding them to change.
Interesting info. “But sometimes my guy just screws up SO BAD.” It’s not your job to fix him. Women have an incredible power to change hearts, and to change the world, by living out the gifts of our feminine genius and becoming who we were created to be.
Now up on the blog, “Becoming a Better Wife: A Step Towards Growing in Virtue”
I hope (and think) this will help many a woman today. Let me know what your thoughts are after reading this!

“The gift you carry for others is not an attempt to save the world but to fully belong to it. It’s not possible to save the world by trying to save it. You need to find what is genuinely yours to offer the world before you can make it a better place. Discovering your unique gift to bring to your community is your greatest opportunity and challenge. The offering of that gift—your true self—is the most you can do to love and serve the world. And it is all the world needs.”

Going to a wedding as a married couple is so renewing and beautiful. My sister Molly got married this past weekend and we found so much joy in witnessing them commit to each other for life and be reminded of our own vows, having our attention drawn back to why we are doing this thing called marriage, why we’re called to it, what it’s purpose is (bonding and babies as Fr. Drew joked), etc. The reality of what occurs at a wedding is much more amazing and divine than meets the eye. We literally speak reality into existence by our words. I’ve been married to Michael for going on two years and I just feel so renewed in my conviction to get him to heaven along with all our babies and say to God once I get there “look what I have for you,” as Fr. Drew so profoundly said.
Congratulations to Molly and Andy, please say a prayer of thanksgiving for their love!
Your beauty is not dependent on style, size, or shape. It’s dependent on the Truth that You are already God’s Bride, made holy, righteous, and perfect in His eyes. So go take THAT to the dressing room, and pull on that gown in confidence and courageousness, because the whole point of a fitting is to make sure that dress is altered to fit YOU, Beautiful.
Sharing a newlywed kiss with my husband while riding on a horse carriage, a kiss at the altar, and a kiss at our wedding reception....a kiss is more than just a sign of affection, it truly is a sign that symbolizes a promise toward a lifelong commitment of love and faithfulness to one another. Happy 1 month of marriage to us! One month down and forever a lifetime to go! Save your kisses for the man who decides to spend the rest of his life with you...🎊🤵🏻👰🏻💕 #newlymarried#1monthofmarriage#happilyevervalenzuela#spokenbride

A month ago today on July 12th, 2019 (Feast-day of St. Louis and Zelie Martin) I married the man I prayed to marry one day! Yes, God is faithful and does hear our prayers, and I’m beyond grateful he allowed our life paths to become one. On this special day we received the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony before God and our dearest family and friends we vowed to love and cherish each other until ‘death do us part’. It was a special day filled with much grace. I look back at this joyous moment in our lives and realize this weekend was a pure gift from God. Our wedding day and marriage is nothing we could have ever earned or achieved on our own account. Everything is a grace, truly a pure gift from God’s mercy and love. Being surrounded by the love and support of all of our family and friends who came from both near and far truly meant the world to us! We love you guys, thanks for sharing in our joy! So blessed to finally be married to my best-friend! ♥️👰🏻🤵🏻 #Spokenbride

Happy Anniversary, my love!
And happy feast of Saint Chiara (Clare, in English)!
Marriage is truly the best (thanks for the spoiler, @kristennoeller)! The Lord is present and unfailing. This year I learned how being vulnerable is not so scary when revealing yourself to one that loves you - who accepts you with mercy. Time and time again when I force myself to tell Joe something I'd rather hide he gently accepts and loves me. He's also pretty good about calling me out for being judgemental and urging me to the Sacrament of Confession when he knows I need it. This vocation is one of iron sharpening iron and I love every refining second. ❤
We are still figuring out how to pray together. We are still trying to make it to places on time. We are still struggling to make concrete plans on trips.
But I wouldn't trade a single day. Come rain, come shine, here's to many more years of board games, beers, and babies! 😘🎉 #CalJoeCrnk#catholic#marriage#marriageiscool#marriedthings#bissisterhood#verilymoment#thatsdarling#spokenbride#anniversary#mamamary

As I'm prepping to head out the door for August wedding #2 , I'm also thinking and praying for the numerous FUS couples who are also tying the knot today! "The words of a hymn my childhood parish sang jump to my mind with fresh relevance: 'The kingdom of God is challenge and choice.' The presenting challenge: physical infertility. With regard to how we approach this challenge, God gives us a choice: do we let ourselves fall into a sinful, selfish attitude of impatience or anger toward him, presuming to believe our wedding vows somehow entitle us to a child? Or do we instead imitate Our Lady’s response of unhesitating trust in God’s plan: Fiat, let it be done unto me according to your word?" - Erin Buchmann

"We chose to celebrate our nuptial Mass on the feast day of St. John the Baptist, June 24. He is one of our favorite saints for multiple reasons. He is my husband’s confirmation saint and a favorite of mine because he’s the patron of spiritual joy and Jesus’ cousin. Most importantly, he is one of two saints, along with St. Thomas More, who died protecting the sanctity of marriage." - Sandra, Today's Featured Bride

Danielle and Trey, I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to be a part of your celebration. I’m honestly struggling to collect my thoughts to describe the beautiful wedding that I had the privilege of witnessing yesterday. For now, I will simply leave some words that are not my own.
Just a little background—the Exhortation of Marriage is an old tradition that is unfortunately not read as often as it used to be at Catholic weddings. And so I was very glad to hear it read at Danielle and Trey’s wedding yesterday. In a time where weddings have become so focused on the celebration, it is a solemn reminder of what the couple is entering into and what will be required of them through their union. Marriage is not easy, and I dare say sometimes unpleasant. But through everything, it is beautiful and fruitful. One of the beauties of marriage is that it is a mystery—no matter how many times you draw from the well, no matter how long you have been married—there is always more to be learned and contemplated. I enjoy hearing this reminder at weddings, and would like to leave here the one section that I always finding myself returning to:
“And so you begin your married life by the voluntary and complete surrender of your individual lives in the interest of that deeper and wider life which you are to have in common. Henceforth you will belong entirely to each other; you will be one in mind, one in heart, and one in affections. And whatever sacrifices you may hereafter be required to make to preserve this mutual life, always make them generously. Sacrifice is usually difficult and irksome. Only love can make it easy, and perfect love can make it a joy. We are willing to give in proportion as we love. And when love is perfect, the sacrifice is complete.”
"Your marriage is also meant to be 'outward-facing' towards the community around you. True love, by its very nature, calls a person out of himself in service. Therefore true married love, by its very nature, must call both spouses out of themselves. Not just to serve each other, but to make their very marriage a gift to those around them. To 'confer a particular mission in the Church and to serve to build up the People of God.'" - Mariah Maza, #SpokenBride Features Editor⠀
Read more of Mariah's (@joansinthedesert) post today on the Spoken Bride blog on how the vocation of marriage is a gift, not only to the couple themselves, but to the world. Link in profile.⠀
"Almost everyone in attendance had never been to an Eastern Rite wedding, but we were so pleased with how people prayerfully partook in the liturgy. My dad was part of the crowning, which is like the exchanging of rings in the Latin rite. That was so special for us." - Rhoslyn, Today's Featured Bride
