🎅🤶During the holidays we all get together with our family and friends to feast at a beautiful and delicious table. But after all of the festivities, many come to me with an “After-Holiday” Problem: Since they started celebrating with Halloween, they continue their celebration without stop!
Here are 13 ways to celebrate consciously, combat sugar addiction, and not overeat. 🤶1. Start each day with breakfast. It is important to find “your” breakfast. Someone may need more fiber, others may require fats and/ or protein. Make sure to start your day with vegetables and not with sweets. This will help prevent a rise in insulin levels and cravings for sweets. 🎅2. Make wise choices. Instead of grabbing everything from the birthday table, think what you want in the moment. Hot or cold? Meat or vegetable? Something light or good to eat? This will help you enjoy the food more and in a smaller portion. 🤶3. Are you hungry or just emotional? If you’re actually hungry, then of course you have to eat. But if your mood is ruined on a holiday, and you are just eating your anger, crankiness, or depression away, then it’s better to find a better coping method. Call a good friend, go to the spa, or just walk in the park. 🎅4. Drink water! Sometimes we’re not hungry but are thirsty or dehydrated. A lot of people confuse these two wishes. Drink water or tea, if the hunger does not pass after doing so, then you’re hungry. 🤶5. Choose quality foods. When the food we eat is delicious and high in quality, we become satisfied faster. It’s better to eat a couple of squares of quality chocolate than a lot of cheap candy.
