amazed at how much i discovered, simply by packing up my temporary home (campsite) before sun rise and impulsively hitting up #IcefieldsParkway with no destination in mind 🏞 now, imagine doing the same thing, but rather, packing up your entire life into a few suitcases and travelling into unknown territory with no plans to welcome you on the other side. would you do it? have you done it? #BucketListDee#ontheroad#gowiththeflow

Some days or weeks you’ll have low energy. You have a great new city to explore, but you’d rather stay in the comfort of your Airbnb because you’re just too tired! And that’s ok. Exploring, working and adjusting to a new place takes a toll on you, as it has for me this week. We’re not robots, so we need to allow for downtime. It’s ok to not be constantly exploring. It’s ok to take a day or two, or more if needed to collect your energy and get recharged.
I’ve had low energy all week, and because I’m a pretty structured person, I am sometimes a bit hard on myself when I don’t get as much done as I’d like to or wake up later than I “should”. Last night, I decided to not set my alarm for this morning, so that I could wake up whenever and get the rest I needed. Needless to say, I woke up at noon but now I feel WAY better. Yeah I’m in Milan, but I won’t enjoy it if my mind and body are too foggy to focus on my surroundings. This might have been a #coolstorybro.
Also, #TBT to when Guapo was a puppy and liked sleeping on my pillow.

Before I set off on a solo trip sometimes I feel overwhelmed, what if I feel lonely? What if it doesn’t go how it did last time? What if I don’t meet other people or get recommendations like I plan too? But then it’s time, your in another country all on your own and you change a little, you become more confident, you realise it’s easier to ask that stranger for help, and your actually better at problem solving then what you thought.
You will realise that most people are willing to help and half the time you don’t even have to ask.
It’s been three days and so far - Someone showed me how to load the train tickets in Portugal - I have changed my plans in Italy because of two Italians that I met and got recommendations from. - I’m currently staying in a ‘strangers’ house and got a lift from the airport.
- Have gotten a ride with my hosts friend to and from the ferry so I didn’t have to bike 22km to/from the terminal. - Had someone help to translate my coffee order and teach me how to say it in Portuguese for next time.
Travel truly restores the faith in humanity you should give it a go ✌🏼

When you’re the only one at the hostel who knows how to spearfish, you’re responsible for getting dinner 😂
I can’t put into words my love for this place. It’s the first place in the world I stumbled upon where a large portion of the people were cold water divers. My people. I felt instantly at home, talking about what we could locally harvest, where the good spots were. •
I meant to come back and spend more time, since I had to go to Wellington to meet a friend, then the Kaikoura earthquake happened (more on that later). It broke my heart to see the exact spot I’m standing and diving here raised 20ft out of the ocean 😞
Second picture shows the crazy tall seaside mountains, a bit of the town, and what my face looks like after cold water diving 😂 •

Day 13 highlight’s⬇️⬇️⬇️ Sentosa for the day ~ an island resort also known as “the state of fun” and it really was an amazing day out there is so much to do there.
So quick morning breakfast, then straight the bus station to get to Sentosa
> then you had to jump on a shuttle to get you to sentosa from the train station so thats all the boring bits done
Stop 1 ~ skyline luge and sky-ride- the luge is a gravity filled cart that you wizz around the track in kinda like mario cart😂 and the sky ride is like a ski lift so you can just sit back and enjoy the views. Deffo had a lot of fun doing it!
Stop 2 ~ Silosa beach - after working up a sweat on the skyline the beach was a perfect place to unwind! Was a little beach club nearby so it was just the chilled vibes that I needeed!
Stop 3 ~ was about time for lunchtime so todays choice was KFC. Very satisfied after meal tbh😂
Stop 4 ~ singapore cable car ~ so after stuffing myself with KFC i decided it was time for a laid back afternoon sorta so the cable car gave you some amazing views of the whole resort!
Stop 5 ~ so this was certainly unplanned and I had no reason to hold a snake however i saw it whikst walking around and decided to do it so not a bad way to spend £2.50 eh
Stop 6 ~ very quick brief stop in Madame Tussaud’s so I bumped into my boy Vince!
Stop 7 ~ stopped by the landmark Merlion Aka Singapores most well known icon there is a lot of history behind it... too much to type but its a beautiful attraction!
Stop 8 ~ my favourite stop of the day adventure cove waterpark was exactly what i needed in this heat. Some of rides/slides were unreal but its a shame I didn’t have my waterproof camera case but eh thats life!
Deffo a day I won’t forget soon, I certainly did have a blast!
Come back tomorrow for day 14❤️
Pro tip: when solo in Montreal, take self portraits on random benches with your iPhone while using your backpack as a tripod

Another stop, Morro Bay. One of the things I love most about traveling solo is the conversations and interactions between strangers. There’s something that feels so good about crossing paths with someone new and sharing life whether we talk or not. Sometimes it’s just the exchange of smile. It’s a subtle reminder that we are all on the same path to everywhere and nowhere. 😉
I love taking pictures for couples or families or someone who is by themselves and trying to selfie. :) I love watching people and feeling their passion and seeing them having fun and living. I guess traveling really reminds me of how much I love (period). I fall in love with every person and every thing and have no attachment to any of it. That may be the secret. Haha!🤫
My friend (@hayleymatches) just posted something the other day that said, “Fall in love with everyone, they are all your soulmates.” How good is that?!? And now my long post is done. Love ya. 🤗
Annecy, France 🇫🇷| Located in the north of French Alps, Annecy is known as “the Venice” of France. Small canals and streams branching out of Lake Annecy dissect and run thru this medieval town. Its thriving center is magnificently situated among the Alpes, Lac d'Annecy, old quarters, and historic buildings. Oh beauty of beauties!

Had to say goodbye to Cinque Terre today but not before an amazing hike and a little more exploring 🏞 This was my first hike post surgery and it felt really great to get back out there (and also it was really hard!! 😬) .
Tonight I sleep in Venice.
Only two more cities to go!! 🚄🇮🇹🎒 #italy#solotravel#shesnotlost
This morning I said caio to Florence but not before an amazing vespa tour 🛵 through the hills of Tuscany with lunch at a vineyard 🍝🍷 #yum
It was so nice to get out of the city!
Tonight I sleep in beautiful Cinque Terre... more on that tomorrow!! #italy#solotravel#shesnotlost 🚄🇮🇹🎒

• Exploring Florence •
We may have gotten off on the wrong foot but Florence and I finally found our stride! It should be noted that I may have been the first person to look upon the David whist listening to Party in the USA 🤷🏽 #americaninitaly#miley
Cant wait to explore more of Tuscany tomorrow! 🚄🇮🇹🎒 #italy#solotravel#shesnotlost

Rome wasn't built in a day (and I don't recommend trying to see it all in a day- ouch). I do however think I could have an address here one day. 😍
Til next time, my love. Off to Florence! 🚅🇮🇹🎒 #italy#solotravel#shesnotlost

First stop: Napoli (Naples) !! Only had a few hours to explore (thanks to a jet lag coma last night) but still managed to get some real 🍕 and see a 🏰 that was built in 5 BC 😮
Off to Roma 🚅 🇮🇹🎒 #italy#solotravel#shesnotlost
