What’s your networking trick? New networking events make me nervous. I always worry that my quirky personality won’t fit. So, I comfort myself by wearing quirky socks...sometimes they’re Sailor Moon, sometimes Cookie Monster, sometimes fuzzy neon pink. Today I chose to wear the cozy owl socks the hubs gave me for Christmas. Now, time to wow and remember that it’s the quirk that’s gotten me this far...it will continue to take me further!
Fri-day - Fri-yay! ☀️ Fridays always feel so good!
Today just before teaching my lovely aqua dears and sirs I was gifted a lovely pair of cool socks from a member at the gym - chosen by her equally awesome daughter! 🧦 So thanks guys I will most deffo enjoy wearing those!
And then I have noticed how I always feel pretty spectacular after I finish teaching aqua, it’s a fun class and I don’t take myself too seriously in it. It’s nice to just pop some cool music on and have a little sing song at the same time.
But today something even more wonderful happened.......... Most weeks some of the members will stop and have a little chat with you, a lady had had a convo with me a couple of months ago about pain she was getting in her arms.
Today she told me it was worse but had been tested at the docs and nothing has come back.
We had a good little natter and she asked me what else it may be ...... I had an idea ..... But I was a little scared to ask to tell you the truth but I did it anyway.
I asked her if she had something going on in her life that was a little stressful or upsetting?
The answer was yes, (I won’t go into detail here) she also said I wasn’t the first to ask that but wasn’t sure how it could be related.
Anyways we had a good little chat and I spoke to her about just how magnificent our bodies are, how important it is to express ourselves whether to someone or in a journal.
How important it is to be kind and loving to yourself, have a good support system and do more of the things that help you feel good.
Our un expressed emotions get left as ‘negative’ energy in our bodies and will show up in another way causing all kinds of illnesses, pain etc.
So today I feel like a little ray of sunshine.
I have received gratefully and given my time and support to another and that feels wonderful because I no doubt imagine she feels a little more supported and listened to than she did this morning.
I have one client booked in for a massage later and one PT client and I am all out for today.
I forget that part of my gift is allowing people to feel safe to open up and feel supported.
All the Friday Feels ☀️❤️☀️ #happywarriorprincess
The story behind my ‘Escape Reality’ socks… ✨Last September I attended @intothewoolfiberretreat for the first time. While visiting the market, a set of mini skeins caught my eye and I eagerly rushed over to see them. When I picked up these lovelies from @hollyandivydyeworks (swipe for pic), I saw gorgeously bright pastels with subtle variegation within them. After I left, I could not get them out of my head. . .
When I returned to reality, I could not stop thinking about this yarn. When the call came for Knitty submissions, they requested designs inspired by previous Knitty patterns. I began perusing the thought-provoking archives of @knittymag and the wheels started turning. . .
I came across these incredible ‘Made in the USA’ colorwork mittens by @druchunas (swipe to see). Her article walks the reader through the rich history and traditions of stranded colorwork, while flashes of colorwork charts show off how dramatically a few small changes to a chart can create a totally different design. Even better, she created three mittens that use the same three colors, but are made quite unique simply by changing the color order. I loved the mittens and the story behind them. . .
Browsing through the various colorwork charts, I fell in love with one called ‘Coca Leaf.’ I started to reimagine the design with socks, and I had the perfect yarn in mind. I contacted @katrinajknits and she was so supportive of my idea, despite the fact that I gave very limited details. The yarn arrived and the magic began… ✨ .
This world is full of such amazing talent and both Instagram and Ravelry have helped me unlock a treasure trove of fiber geniuses. It means so much that my design was chosen by Knitty, and I’m so excited to contribute my little piece to the fiber of this wonderful community. Enjoy the free pattern and happy knitting! 💕

My first pair of #socks I've ever made just arrived in #NY. Shoutout to @josuezy84 for being the first person to order from me. I posted on my insta story and he immediately asked where he can get them. I was beyond excited. He even got them before I got mine 😅😅 I am jealous LOL Cheers to all the amazing people out there supporting #localartists. We couldn't continue without your support. #artistsoninstagram
