Happy Easter to those who are celebrating ❤️
I know I haven't been very present -- I plan on becoming more active and sharing mental health info & amazing self-care products with you once I'm done with school. This last stretch of the semester feels like a long one 😩
BUT here's what I'm wearing today...
✨ Color correcting tinted moisurizer in medium MIXED with a tiny bit of green concealer (I had some redness from acne & this combo evened it out beautifully)
✨ Old formula of our undersense & black waterproof mascara (our new formula is WAY better but this is what I have and still works wonders 😂)
✨ Silver rose powder
✨ Bronze dust powder
✨ Natural powder
✨ Papaya Gloss (MY FAVORITE GLOSS EVER NOW!!) I also somehow lost my candlelight so I need to get a new one 😭
It is bright and beautiful this morning. Slowing way down to take in my surroundings and hopefully breathe in some new life into this old soul! ♡

Today Sandra would like to tell you a little bit about 180 DC Munich:
My name is Sandra and I joined 180 in summer 2018 as a student consultant. In my current position as ‘Consulting Director’ I am responsible for the project acquisition together with Mauritz and Vero and I will support two projects in the upcoming semester. 180 shows how many interesting social and sustainable organizations as well as possibilities to improve our society exist and how important their contribution is 😊 If you also want to promote a fair, social and sustainable society and want to gain insights into the area of consulting, hand in your application!
1, that's my REAL hair on the back. #Locs#TeamNatiral .
2, I do have brown hairs in my beard but just not many.
3, I know I'd pull this look off IRL! 😂😂
After days of being sick after I learned my son was a carrier of a flu strand, I'm feeling much better today. Good thing because I have final papers and one final exam within the next 10 days then I'll officially be DONE with #GradSchool ! Also, my 32nd #Birthday is in 6 more days, April 27th and I REALLY don't want to be sick that day. Although I don't do much on my birthday these days as it's also the anniversary of my second near-fatal #Suicide attempt, I prefer to be thankful for life and to reflect on all of the accomplishments I've had in these past 7yrs after being given a THIRD chance at living. On May 22nd I'll be graduating with my #Masters in Social Work, moving back home to the Chicago area where I'll have the summer off before I begin my #Doctoral program. I'm so grateful for everything I have, both tangible and intangible, my family and friends, and my support system that's stayed by my side through thick and thin, good times and bad, struggles and successes. I love you all and I'm truly thankful for you all. ♡

There is consensus that military personnel can encounter a far more diverse set of challenges than researchers and clinicians have historically appreciated. Moral injury (MI) represents an emerging construct to capture behavioural, social, and spiritual suffering that may transcend and overlap with mental health diagnoses (e.g., post‐traumatic stress disorder and major depressive disorder). The Expressions of Moral Injury Scale—Military Version (EMIS‐M) was developed to provide a reliable and valid means for assessing the warning signs of a MI in military populations. Looking ahead, the EMIS‐M will hopefully advance the scientific understanding of MI while supporting innovation for clinicians to tailor evidence‐based treatments and/or develop novel approaches for addressing MI in their work. The work is ongoing but there is every reason to hope progress will be made for our veterans in this area. #bulletproofingthepsyche#thisispublichealth
I think that we’re always in this “go go go” mode, and we always think that we have to be doing something constantly. I don’t like letting myself relax, and I always feel like I could and should be DOING something. This is your friendly reminder that it’s okay to take a break, it’s okay to relax, it’s okay to not be doing something 24/7. Happy Easter ✨
If you're ever had your feelings dismissed by a (POC) in anti-racism spaces when you're racially triggered? You're not alone. This happens every single day. The reason why this happens, is because a (POC) who hasn't healed from their racial trauma will not be able to hold space for your feelings: not to the extent that you would like them to. If and when you expect them to do this, then this is unrealistic. They will tell you things like "You're exhibiting white fragility and we've suffered more than you have." While it is true that (POC) have, absolutely, been the victims of institutionalized oppression via white supremacy, know, that this does not mean that they can help you. They dismiss your feelings and then you turn around and dismiss their feelings. A (POC) who hasn't healed and a white who hasn't reformed from their racist ways is the blind communicating to the blind. Both are not coming from a place of healing and both need help. This is why it is absolutely key, that as a white person, that you be aware that not all (POC) can help you. There are too many (POC) who think they can and should do this work, but they lack inner healing in order to lead. There are also too many white folks who assume that because someone is (POC) it makes them automatically credible to do this sort of work. So, if you're following one of the 99.% (and counting) (POC) anti-racism "experts", you need to make an important decision: do you want reform or punishment? If you want punishment, then they will not hold space for you. If you want reform, then holding space is part of rehabilitation — and this is the type of work I do, which is radically different and in direct opposition to their work. #racism#antiracism#feminism#socialwork reform #poc#bipoc#psychology#socialjustice#behavior#queer#race#lgbtqia#feminist#relationships#interracial#family#reform#racismreform#racistsignature
