It's the one conference that sets the stage for the year ahead. In our industry, Social Media Marketing World is the beginning of a new fiscal year. Between now and next year, there will be new faces, new influencers, and new speakers. That's just how it goes. Back in the day, I used to dream of when my opportunity would come so I got to work on building relationships, creating and distributing content. For example, when my peers at the time laughed at me for being on Snapchat I doubled down and reaped the benefits. If your goal is to speak on stages, you have to make yourself known. However, you can't rely solely on social media either, part of the game is to put yourself in front of others at industry events. Once you're there then it's on you to manifest your destiny. Along the way, you will have others that boost you up and some that try to hold you down. My advice is to stand firm with what your endgame is even if it takes you longer than you'd like. Eventually, your passion and persistence will wear others down and you'll take what's rightfully yours. It starts with an objective and ends with a lot of work in between. Go get it. #smmw18
