This community is running rampant with boss babes and girl bosses. Which is DOPE. I’m proud that we live in an era that we can do our own thing and be damn proud of it. But if you’re one of those boss babes who doesn’t always feel like one; if you feel like you’re drowning in a sea of BOSSES, you’re not alone. I made $330 one day this weekend and I was on top of the world. I’ve made $6.05 so far today and I don’t feel so hot. •
Community is such a treasure, but community can also feel pretty heavy at times when you feel you don’t belong. So please know that you’re absolutely not the only one with a slow sales day, and you’re not the only one doubting their capabilities. This ride is full of ups and downs, but we’re in it together! Ride it out, I promise a better day is right around the corner.
Okay, who else has become slightly obsessed with Marie Kondo “tidying up” method! 🙋🏻♀️ One of my biggest fears moving back to the US was ‘accumulating too much stuff’ - and always wanting more ‘stuff’. I’m about to start applying her method-it looks fun, however we’ll see how I finish! I’m super nervous, anyone have any helpful pointers? ✨One thing is for sure, my bags definitely spark joy in my life. 😊.
Packaging up my one sale from today to ship tomorrow. This may not sound very exciting but it is for me! I hope to have at least one per day. When you stay at home with your toddler it is so hard to source! Most of my closet is from my personal closet and things family gives me to sell but I do source every now and then and when I sell something that I handpicked to sell I get so excited! Can you tell I’m new to this 🤣 The last few days I’ve sold 3 or 4 things I sourced and so this one little package I’m shipping tomorrow gives me all the feels. How many items a day do you expect and hope for? Anyone else out there in the reselling community have to drag a toddler with them to thrift? It is ALMOST impossible 🌻🌻🌻

Flipping the Bird to the woman who just stole a top from me 🖕. Crazy thing is I knew she was stealing it, and pleaded for her to give it back, but can’t physically touch her( it was under her top). Luckily most of my customers are honest and super supportive 🙏, you are appreciated!

Day 24 of the #byebuychallenge 🙂
Learning that online shopping is something I do when I have nothing to do. I have been occupying myself with more of what I love - planning trips (we're going to climb a mountain then dive at one of the world's most famous sites!), lifting weights to get myself fitter again for the climb and cardio that won’t aggravate the big toe, delving into a new book (The Passage by Justin Cronin), having strange dreams about escaping a zombie attack and finishing The Marvelous Mrs Maisel too quickly 🙈 and playing with my little tubbywubby (swipe to see her) 🙂 I'm also trying a new finance tracking app (MoneyCoach) and I'm going to see a neurologist now! Life is interesting. What have you being doing to distract yourself from shopping during the challenge?

I’m already starting to think about spring (is it too early?) and here I am sitting on a bus looking out the window at a snow storm 😂 I guess I’ll be in my winter wardrobe for a little while longer. .
Styling this @vettacapsule sweater a different way with a little bit of colour popping through with a turtleneck and some dark denim. A few months ago I wrote a post about styling denim for work, if you’re interested, I’d love it if you’d give it a read! (Link in bio) Have a lovely day!

I finished my first ever coat!
Fabric: Wool coating deadstock from @stonemountainfabric. The super special lining is rayon from the new collection designed by @truebias and @wegather for @workroomsocial. I've been hesitant to incorporate prints into my wardrobe, but it was love at first sight when I saw the large scale of this graphic print. It sold out in a hot second, but you can pre-order some at workroomsocial.com I'm giving you my best creepy flasher smile in photo 2. 😆
My mods: I made seam-to-seam slanted pockets. (I shamelessly copied @vacilandoquilting) I shortened the sleeves by 1 inch. After sewing the lining to the hem, the thick wool seam allowance wouldn't turn upwards inside the lining despite all my pressing efforts. So I hand-sewed a blind hem the whole way around in between the two layers. The final mod: I hand-sewed the under collar seam for two reasons. 1. My machine chuckled when I tried to put that many layers of thick wool underneath the presser foot. 2. Hand sewing was the most beautiful way to finish it so that there are no visible stitches from the inside or outside. Sooooo. What do you think? Did I over-complicate things by hand-sewing, or do you think it's worth it to invest the time and effort when making a coat?

Seriously appreciating the little things ✨ like this bra made in my own city, a #memade cami, vintage cardigan - gosh I need to wear this outfit again!
I've been testing out only 1 post a day (instead of two), as a way to give myself time for working out and reading, but the bright side? I can do some spontaneous ootd videos in my stories! Thought it'd be a fun change and a chance to answer some of your questions about how I transition to bundling up for winter 😉
Now, since I haven't talked about it, a little bit on this bra (purchased by me over the holidays):
it's from @fortnightlabel , a Toronto-based lingerie company that makes all their items here. They've been online for a while, but opened their first physical store right by Kotn (convenient AND dangerous...haha). It floored me when I went in with my mom, asked the sizes the offered in store - and they went up to hers and down to mine. Both my mom and I can't ever find our proper bra sizes in conventional stores. WIN! Intentional production, beautifully classic designs, easy-to-access sizes. ✨
