Next review is a chain restaurant, pizza express, in particular The Forum, NR2. You’d like to think that a company with ‘Pizza’ in the name could make a good lie, here’s what I thought.
🍞 - Not terrible, nice crust but the base itself was quite floppy, not really a pizza you could eat with you hands 👎🏻
.🧀 - Cheese wasn’t bad, nothing too exciting but not a negative 👍🏻
.🥫 - Sauce was a surprise for me, I was quite impressed with the taste and was a redeeming factor👍🏻
.💰 - £8.95 for the pizza, a lot for what it is 👎🏻
.🍕 - Overall - 6.4/10 a middle of the road, overpriced pizza 😴
Spot number 2 was more of a need than a hunted out pizza spot. After more than one lite beer we decided pizza would be the way to end the night. Stromboli’s on the lower east side was our target. Half and half (which I’m never a fan of) was the decision with sausage on one side and pepperoni on the other. Course I bloody had a Blue Moon with it, someone call the cops 🙄
Crust – 5. When you’ve had a few it’s very hard to find a bad pizza and this was no exception. It was fine. Nothing to report back on. Could have maybe done with some kind of moisture with it but it ticked the box.
Topping – 5. I chose the sausage which can only be described as more porky tasting doner meat. It was oily and slightly spongey. The pepperoni was better with the nice oil coming out of it. The plus marks was that the cheese was plentiful and hotter than hell. Tomato was no where to be seen, and only acted as a mere emollient mixture.
Base – 6. It was nicely cooked and evenly but in a electric oven you would come to expect that. A slice held well in the hand and the base had a pretty good salt bottom, all be it a weird texture. That said it was easy to eat when you’re borderline ravenous.
Overall – 6. I understand after a trough full this isn’t the most legitimate review however for that time of night and that level of pizza it did the trick. This is a decent late night pizza/slice place which offers quick pizza when the skwad need it most
