I haven’t been able to take a lot of pictures lately due to my busy life and schedule... so here’s a picture from last summer. Can’t wait for what this summer brings!

Maybe my favorite preamp ever! The @buzzaudio MA2.2 with Sowter output Transformers is straight 🔥on everything, including acoustics guitars and vocals today!! 🥰 Although it’s billed as a transparent preamp that could take classical all day long, it’s so open and musical it beats out my colored preamps regularly, especially when using flavored mics and comps. It’s big, open and 3D sound always puts a smile on my face! Thanks Buzz for making such an inspiring preamp!! 😎🙏🏼 #analog#studio#recording#geartalk#micpreamp#sistersoregon#protools#mixing#producer#logicx#api#neve

Guys, we made it over our very first mountain pass in the snow! 👏🏻🚐🏔👏🏻 We took highway 20 from Bend (Oregon) to Eugene across the mountains and #valourthevan showed her characteristic valour (we named her that for a reason 😉💪🏼).
Eric had been understandably nervous about crossing the snowy Cascade Mountains ever since we left Arizona, and our trial run using chains for the first time driving up to Crater Lake both galvanized him but also meant he had a fair idea of the extremes we could expect! Which made him more apprehensive. 😏
Luckily the day we chose to make the pass was a fairly clear one with no blizzards forecast. (see our stories for a rundown). Our 30 year old RV chuffed up and down the snow covered roads like a champion! When we got down the other side we stopped to take this photo in celebration and because these trees dusted with snow are just 😍🌲🌨 Onwards and upwards... Canada, we're coming for ya!

Ironing out all the little details on this balance bridge assembly, I love making individual components and building their respective assemblies. This client requested a very delicate 18k Rose Gold upper section and German Silver feet with a frosted surface finish. The stud bridge is black polished and the shock setting chaton is blued. Next is to mate this assembly to the oscillator and begin final timing adjustments. . .
We’re on the three week countdown until we finally move to Sisters, Oregon. We are beyond ready and excited. Our home won’t be ready until April, so we’re cozying up in a furnished rental just down the road from the construction site for a month or so. We want True to have some time settling into his new school before we make one last move into our new home.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What a journey this has been. We have been in a state of transition – living with my parents, our belongings in storage – for about 6 months now. My mama heart has been worried about True’s heart all of this time as there’s been so much transition. He’s been so nervous about a new school, a new neighborhood, new friends. I moved a ton as a kid and remember well the nerves of starting over. My heart has been tender for him while also knowing that navigating change is an important rite of passage that helps with resiliency. It’s hard to watch our kids do hard things, isn’t it? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
During this last visit to our new city, he had the opportunity to spend three days visiting what will be his new school. He put his brave rock in his backpack and off he went, nerves and all. As school let out on his first day, he came bumbling out of the classroom, huge smile on his face as he said, “It was awesome. Best teacher ever!” Ahhhhh, we made it to this moment. Big exhale…..⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Meanwhile, John and I have been having such good conversations about all sorts of choices we want to make about how we want to live inside this new life we’re creating. We’re daydreaming about outdoor adventures, everyday rhythms, what we want, what we don’t want, how we want to feel, how we can support one another. It’s been John’s dream to live in a mountain town for as long as I’ve known him (20 yrs!) and I can see and feel his excitement – like a kid. I know his happiness will wash our family with sunshine. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
What do you think of our chimney bursting out joy? Or the birdie perched in protection? Or the patchwork grass? Almost there....
