A ridgeline of Mt Tom peaks through dark snow clouds. Bishop, CA.
After getting in late then killing an extra day gear shopping, we were disappointed to wake up on our first day for climbing to see the East Sierra peaks shrouded in menacing snow clouds. However threatening to our plans, we couldn't help but be enchanted by the way the clouds sectioned the mountains and the beautifully dynamic lighting created by breaks in the cover. Fortunately for us, the clouds manifested little more than a few light sprinkles on the high desert bouldering areas. Although if the two British climbers we met were correct, I'm to blame for the rain because I wore sunglasses to the crag on a (mostly) cloudy day. While I wish I could take credit for this as it came from my camera, I do believe this particular shot was taken by the luminous @meganmarie3

We caught sight of @jedi13k riding his custom +10mm MVP’s and sending some healthy double drops at Alpine on Monday ⚡️❄️⛷
Everyone’s got a friend who wants to do it all on the mountain- charge down the faces, slash the powder, hit and spin all the natural and artificial features. A freeskier, essentially. We’ve built a ski that can do it all and then some. The MVP, or Most Valuable Praxis, features the perfect 110 mm-wide cambered underfoot, combined with a substantial tip/tail rocker- this allows it to hold an edge while tearing up the hardpack, as well as float and pivot on the deeper days. It’s flex allows for a nice pop off the tip and tails, adding a little flavor to every feature hit.

”We are all citizens of the planet, and if we pool our observations together, we can often answer questions that would be very difficult (...) without our collective contributions.” We couldn’t agree more with our new ambassador Benjamin Hatchett! Benjamin grew up in the northern Sierra Nevadas, currently lives in Reno, NV, where he works as a Assistant Research Professor at the Desert Research Institute and Western Regional Climate Center. Read more about Benjamin on our Ambassador page (link in bio). Welcome to CSO!! ⭐️ #sierranevada#citizenscience#dataforgood#knowyourmountains#shareyourwisdom
I’m still traveling but Happy Hour has commenced back on the home front. I think Sierra Nevada should hire Zazu as their new spokesman. He matches!! (We won’t tell them that’s just OJ in his cup.) #sierranevada#spokesparrot#parrotsofinstagram
