Travel Tip Tuesday!
Take a close look at layovers when booking a flight. An awesome flight deal with a 12 hour overnight layover may not be worth the savings - especially if you end up booking a hotel for the night. The cost of the hotel alone could blow any savings on the cheaper flight. If you don’t book a hotel? It could cost you time in the location you’re traveling to + it’s more likely to make you tired once you land. Long daytime layovers, however, we’re a fan of! These can be a great way to not only save money, but also see a new city! We’ve saved a couple hundred dollars on flights, while also getting to explore cities like Chicago, London, + soon to be, Seoul!
Our long London layover let us enjoy this yummy, jumbo meringue! Do you go + explore on long layovers or do you stick to the airport?
Today started out fine - up and moving by 7a to drive 6 hours, NYC to home. A small bit of chaos getting out of Manhattan, but otherwise one the road and cruising.
After a couple of hours we are in CT - singing along to the radio, Dunkins’ ice coffee in hand, when all of a sudden the car jerks and then begins slowing down in the middle of the highway ...
We managed to get off the side of the road, but the car quickly stopped moving. We were stuck on the side of the highway in CT ...
Fast forward about 45 minutes and we got a tow truck, but with 6 of us in the car, they told us to buckle up and stay in the car - and then proceeded to pull us up onto the flatbed of the tow truck. Yes, we then pulled off onto the highway, still in the car .. on the flatbed of a tow truck. 😂😂😂 .
Small hiccups in the morning, but it ended up being minor and everyone was moving along again by early afternoon.
And then we got into NH ... where the snow falling, the road were slippery, and the traffic was moving like a glacier.
It was 5 by the time I got home from the 6 hour drive. 🙈🙈
It was a bit of a RIDE. 😂😂🙈🤦🏼♀️
I got some fun facts for you!
1 - I didn't start liking most vegetables until after becoming an adult. Any picky eaters on here. 👀
2 - I'm currently volunteering in Santa Maria. I teach students about international issues and how to reduce inequalities. ❤😍
3 - I like to help others achieve their travel goals for fun. Yes, you read that right! If you're on a budget and want/like to travel then I got some goodies for you! Check out the link in my bio. ✈
TELL ME: What are some facts about you? Don't be shy, introduce yourself. I wanna hear from you! 🙂
Shoutout to @blatinawiththegoodhair for the "Born to an Immigrant" top & @eduu_miranda for the shot. 😁
These Fantails move so quickly, even with fast shutter speed, they're hard to capture. The Rufous Fantail is found in rainforest, dense wet forests, swamp woodlands and mangroves, preferring deep shade, and is often seen close to the ground.

✨Buena suerte!

you have social obligation
you have to watch your mouth
I spit my coffee out
I’m sorry–you thought my art was about you?
you thought I am sitting in a room pouring all that I am onto paper for you?
I let out a mad laugh
and you’re here to try and put me back in the box that I write to leave?
You’re here to tell the artist who is trying to not conform with her voice
what other brilliant advice do you have for me?
that I’m on a pedestal?
that because I’m a celebrity
that I have to set a good example
for them nice young girls?
I hope them nice young girls read my art and feel the fire in their belly begin to burn that they
will need to live
and I hope the people who pull at the non-conformists to conform
because they’re uncomfortable seeing someone do it another way–find belonging not through a
heard of sheep
but through their dharma–
rot in the hell of their comfortability
A good artist doesn’t have ears
and a throat to speak. @jannerobinson

A short one hour hike up the Tampa Mountain in #Braşov, #Romania leads you to this view over the city. The winding Serpentinelor Trail is an accessible path through woodland, with some steep inclines but scenic rewards from the site of old fortress ruins. You’ll also get to walk pass the Brasov Hollywood style sign that adorns the heights of this small but proud city. It was also a good way to work off the revelry of the night before, spend partying at Bran Castle one hour away for the exclusive @gadventures Halloween party. There’s nothing like combining cultural festivals with cultural wanderings. #collab

The face of a bitch directing her first feature film!
Trying to let it sink in. Thinking a lot lately about how to define success for myself. Is it a dollar sign (bc then I’m not really in the right field lol #doclife), institutional approval, number of views, or some sort of unquantifiable “impact?”
All I know is what a privilege it is to be surrounded by a loving community creating and wrestling with the same questions. Thank you @nextdocfilm@jbfc_pville and of course @breaktide for guiding me through my journey. Getting to be a filmmaker, getting to follow @nadyaokamoto, and getting to meet so many incredible people along the way, is only possible because of all the community love. Grateful 💗
Looking forward to finding ways to take breaks, occasionally saying no to projects, and getting fundeddd 💸
splashin' away like a little dork -- this weekend was so great. it's amazing how good some sun & laughter can make you feel. 🍸☀️⛱
