I think there are seasons for understanding your season while you’re in it, and I also think there are seasons for not understanding your season until 10 seasons later. A large portion of my life was spent isolating myself, not sharing my thoughts and feelings and going through things alone. I’m slowly easing into being bold and fearless.
But whichever season you’re in right now, whether you’re crooked and aching and split open or you’re light and warm and dancing - I hope you allow yourself to be brave enough to feel all of it. It takes guts to feel, to strip back the humanness of pretending, and be vulnerable. Keep moving forward, I’m right there with ya.

I’m not posting this to gloat or get attention, I just want to share how important diet is and how stress can affect the body. These photos were taken a week apart and the only thing I changed from my normal routine was watching what I ate. I have been encouraged by people to share my story.
2018 was probably the worst year of my life. I have 2 children who are 3.5 and 2 years old. I almost never got 8 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I’m a full time nursing student and I work part time as a RMT (Massage Therapist). I lost my mom to cancer in June after a 4 year battle.
Everyone deals with stress differently, I don’t eat. I wouldn’t go as far to say I was anorexic only because I wasn’t doing it for body image reasons. I was so stressed my brain wasn’t getting the signals that I was hungry, I could go all day with one meal and snacks.
For most of the year I have been “handling” my stress by running. And on average I was running about 60km a month. That paired with not eating you would think I would be super skinny but that’s not how the body works. 1) When I was eating I was eating HIGH carbs and LOW protein 2) I wasn’t eating frequently enough for the fitness level I was doing so my body started to store fat in its reserve so the body could perform its daily cellular exchange.
This past week with the right tools from @fireandironfitness I have been watching what I eat and when. I have switched from high carb low protein to High Protein Low Carbs (yes, there are lots of fruit and veggies in there too!). My running Kms where actually very low this week compared to the last month. I add in a simple home workout with no extra weights other than my own kids.
My IG family has been nothing but supportive and encouraging. This is my journey to be a better me.
I spent the first part of my twenties chasing an impressive job title and acceptance. I’m spending the last part of my twenties chasing happiness and fulfillment.
I wish I had the courage to do it sooner, but at least it’s happening now. ❤️
I bend but do not break.
I've been lost, but I'm not a loser.
I'm a wreck, but I'm not totaled.
I'm fractured but not broken.
I've failed, but I'm not a failure.
I've fallen hard but can get up again.
I'm isolated, but still I'm free.
I have been destroyed but will rebuild.
My heart is broken, but it will mend.
See, no matter how close I come to breaking, I just continue to bend.

Please tell me I'm not the only one! At what age will these types of dreams stop?? In the dreams I'm at my current age but still have to take these exams. 🤷🏽♀️
Typically in these dreams I'm running late to the exam because of things that are frustrating and don't make sense. For example, I physically cannot pick up my toothbrush. It's right there but my hand just cannot grab it. Or I can't put my clothes on because they just keep falling off when I'm trying to get dressed. Or I can't remember how to get to my school and my hands cannot type into the GPS or I'm trying to do GPS on objects that don't have GPS like on the passenger seat or steering wheel.
This is just a slight glimpse into the ridiculousness of my dreams. I have many intensely vivid dreams every single night, and if we've ever met you've probably been in one. If we know each other well you've probably been in many. 😆
What types of dreams do you have often?
I have had to make a lot of decisions throughout my life.⠀
When I look back, I feel as though there are some major crossroads that anchor my 32 years.⠀
Ever since I can remember, I have had the same approach for each decision.⠀
It all comes down to head versus heart.⠀
Chances are, when deciding between two things, my head would tell me one thing and my heart would tell me the other.⠀
9 times out of 10...I go with my heart.⠀
How about you?
My heaviest in 2018 on the left and stage ready on the right, it’s all been a learning experience through and through.
I understand a lot of people don’t care for one or the other so I don’t flood my feed with much of either (I’m not a competition junky so I get it) but I am extremely excited to get back on stage this year. Should be interesting to say the least. Does anyone else have specific goals to look forward to?
