I have been looking everywhere to locate a bag for my cricut machine because I often need to take it to clients home when organising their space. I could not find one I liked at all, so I decided to buy a sewing machine and make one myself. This is my first sewing project. I feel like I’ve aged 30 years but that’s ok, definitely worth it. This is a @jos_proust fabric, and I want her entire collection. I mentioned the other day that the Australian Flora works so well on textiles and here’s my proof. 🌾

my ultimate scrappy quilt top is now large enough for me to wrap myself in it! was so excited to start the basting process and then i realised i needed to piece a scrappy backing as well 😫 going to join all the long pieces of backing that were trimmed from other quilts.. hopefully that shouldn’t take as long!
I made another #hinterlanddress over the weekend! I’ve been wanting a simple, no-fuss linen dress made from a dreamy @merchantandmills linen for the past year. When I saw the beautiful simplicity of @naturally_nora_daily’s recent Hinterland, I felt the spark to finally make it. And even though I’m not going to be able able to wear this for a while, sometimes it’s just nice to make something pretty and easy, and jump on a project when you feel inspired. This is my 4th version of the dress, so I think it’s safe to say that I LOVE this pattern. This version isn’t going on the blog, so I’m including the details below!
Pattern: #hinterlanddress by @sewliberated
Fabric: @merchantandmills linen in French Clay (my favorite of their color options)
Modifications: All my normal ones to get the fit right (see previous posts for this dress on the blog), removed .5” extra from the bottom of bodice and skirt (I’m 5’1” so most dress patterns are naturally long on me), I omitted the placket by placing front pattern piece on fold, and I also omitted the waist ties. Because this version is really simple and plain, I did a lot of extra topstitching to add a little more interest.
I love all my Hinterlands so much, and I can already tell that this version will be well-worn and well-loved, one of those everyday dresses I’ll have for years to come.
