Negative emotions can eat a hole in our souls. If you body and mind have been taking an emotional beating, you will certainly need a bit of self care and well-being to get over it.
The term “self care” seems a bit indulgent to some. It reminds them that part of self care can be pampering and relaxing. Things like getting a massage, pedicures and relaxing in a hot tub. They mistake that thoughts that these can be needed breaks from a hectic life and not styles of life to repeat on a daily basis.
However, admitted some self care does take place on a daily basis. In fact, you may be doing daily self care and just not admitting it. a morning routine, an exercise, for example, are just a series of self care ideas done at a specific time every day to try and get the most of the self care and have it form the largest possible positive impact on your body, mind, soul and your day.

WHAT TO DO WHEN SOMEONE IS HAVING A SEIZURE
It is not uncommon that you could find yourself around someone experiencing a seizure and your actions or inactions towards this person could be either beneficial or detrimental so it is important to be armed with the right information. KNOWLEDGE IS POWER THEY SAY!
seizures are known to have a high enough incidence of associated injuries that you and i can PREVENT if only we don't run away fromhe affected person.
1- Don't panic, be calm, the only way you can be useful to this person is if you are not glittery, so please calm down.
2- Do not try to hold down someone in the midst of an active seizure.
3- Do not place your fingers or any object at all in someone’s mouth during a seizure, even if you think they’re choking. Please just leave their mouth alone.
4- Do not move a seizing individual unless he or she is in danger or near something hazardous. Even then, you must carefully weigh the risks and benefits of acting instead move the hazardous object or objects
5- Do not grab the head or neck of someone seizing in an effort to make it stop. Seizures just don’t work that way.
6- Do not start CPR in someone actively seizing.
7- Do not place a child in a cold bath, even if you think the child’s seizure has been described as being due to fevers in the past, that child could aspirate water from that cold bath and you just worsened the situation.
8- Do not leave this person until the seizure stops and professional help arrives
10- Don't pour water or any herbal concoction on their head or body as they could aspirate this fluid and choke on it.
Most importantly DON'T RUN AWAY! if you are too scared to help get someone to help, don't leave a seizing person alone.

💞 Prioritäten ☝
Nicht erst seit meinem kürzlichen Ausflug in die neurologische #Notfallambulanz (Spoiler: mein #Gehirn ist topfit!) hab ich beschlossen dass sich zum Thema Selbstfürsorge etwas ändern muss. Seit die kleine Tochter auf der Welt ist waren meine #Prioritäten sehr verschoben. Viel #Baby / #Kinderbespaßung, viel #Arbeit (zuhause & in der #Selbstständigkeit), wenig Sport / Bewegung, wenig gute Ernährung, wenig Trinken und wenig ausreichender / erholsamer Schlaf. Das Resultat waren visuelle Störungen und die Angst, ich könnte einen #Schlaganfall haben.
Es muss sich was ändern. Sofort. Ich versuche so gut und erholsam wie möglich zu schlafen, ernähre mich gesünder, trinke viel mehr und versuche jeden Tag mindestens 10 bis 15 Minuten Yoga zu praktizieren. Meine eigene Erwartung musste dabei erst mal abgelegt werden - ich muss nicht dreimal die Woche für 90 Minuten Yoga-is-not-yummy üben, es reicht wenn ich überhaupt etwas nur für mich und meinen Körper tue. In dieser Zeit darf das Babymädchen eine Folge von der Sendung mit dem Elefanten sehen denn - Prioritäten! Lange genug habe ich mich selbst ganz, ganz weit hinten angestellt - so funktioniert es einfach nicht mehr. Gemeinsam mit meiner Freundin haben wir beschlossen ein bis zwei Mal die Woche Abends für uns Zeit zu nehmen, als Frauen. Schwimmen gehen, Walken oder einfach nur ein Glas Wein ohne dass uns (insgesamt) 5 Kinder am Bein kleben. Selbstfürsorge ist was schönes!
Was tut ihr für euch selbst?
Facts! I spoke on this in my Insta stories this week. It's habit building season and to build on a habit you need to repeat said action consistently.
I don't always want to workout and sometimes I hate meal prepping but doing these things consistently has played a huge part in my results.
Meal prep: I know Insta meal prepping shows multiple glamourous meals but don't be afraid to keep it simple. Cook what you will actually eat. Plan ahead and pick a day that suits YOUR lifestyle to prep on consistently.
Workouts: Plan Plan Plan. How many workouts a week? What days will you complete these workouts? Where are you doing these workouts? Once you have your formula down - repeat, repeat and repeat.
NOTE: please don't confuse perfection with consistency. Everyday won't always be great but you still have the opportunity to start over everyday.

As you all know i am working on my #selfcaregoals Since some time now.

My second post was about how reading a book helps to be calm
Well this third one is about recharging your energy simply by moving around
Research says exercise as simple as walking has direct impact on your mind. You tend to be more focused,positive and energetic for a longer period of time
As i always complain about lack of time since i became a mom i made a tough decision (trust me its really tough for me to even think about it, its really forcing myself) to start from something basic since dec.
So i started walking keeping a goal in mind to complete 10k steps each day
When i began i managed to start with 2k steps the entire day in bits and pieces which went to 3.5k to 5k to 7k to 9k and finally yesyerday i hit the bulls eye 10k steps
If u thinking as a weightloss activity i have my doubts bcaz my aim was to complete 10k steps a day not together but as and when i have time to walk but i have managed to loose 1 kilo which is not bad
But this has improved my stamina, i dont feel tired and lathargic, it makes me feel fresh and i feel inspired everyday for literally no reasons
Hence the 3rd goal is to start any form of exercise atleast 30 mins a day and see the difference
Ps - the women in the pic is not me i still dont feel comfortable with the entire idea that i have started this #selfcare mission.. I guess sometimes it takes time to sink in what you have decided.

Hey folks. I’ve been really quiet on here lately. I’ve been struggling with my direction as an artist (and just general person) and I’ve been confused about what it is that I really love to do. I dabbled a lot last year in making, painting, designing, writing, printing etc, and I found a lot of things that floated my boat. But towards the end of 2018, I felt less than confident in my abilities, and at times nearly flagged this journey away all together. I keep reminding myself that I’m only learning, but me being me, I always compare myself to others (dumb I know). Anyway, I just wanted to say that I”m still on a journey of discovery as an artist, so you might still see bits and pieces all over the show from me ;) I’m also going to change the name of this account a bit! I chose “rest” as my intention for the week. I’m so ready to jump into the grind but apparently I’m a human Petri dish of diseases with pink eye and a sinus- throat infection. It’s so demoralizing when you jumpstart a health/fitness routine and are forced to press pause only a few days into it. Trust me, I was so tempted to take a class yesterday where we did a choreography to the Pussy Cat Dolls, “don’t cha wish your girlfriend was hot like me” but besides the fatigue and fever it would have been ridiculous doing sexy moves while oozing from one eye and hacking up a lung. So instead of giving up on all my habits until I feel better, I’m still meditating and doing my affirmations. I’m also adding dance classes to my calendar next week so my brain is ready to jump in as soon as I feel better. Knowing they’re already a part of my schedule helps me with resistance, at least I hope! Let’s see.
PS any tips for dealing with tummy problems while on antibiotics are welcomed 🙏🏼 I’m eating kimchi with every meal but... that’s just because I love kimchi!

Well... not for me & not today 😂 eu sou uma grande apologista de exprimirmos as nossas emoções, e embora eu acredite verdadeiramente que a minha vida é perfeita com as suas imperfeições, existem dias em que simplesmente está tudo errado e eu não estou feliz nem ‘bem’, e hoje é um desses dias... and that is also okay!
Um problema de Saúde Mental deveria ser encarado como qualquer problema de saúde físico que temos (ou, na minha humilde opinião, com ainda maior importância): é real, é válido, é uma condicionante para a vida da pessoa que o tem, e por isso deve ser tratado (ou pelo menos falado)! Em Portugal quase 1/4 (os números de 2016 falavam em 23%!) da população sofre de um problema destes, e por isso é bastante provável que quem esteja a ler isto se identifique com o que estou a escrever e/ou conheça de forma próxima quem se identifique! Os dados oficiais também nos dizem que são prescritas mais de 30 milhões de embalagens de psicofármacos por ano e gastos mais de 600 mil € DIARIAMENTE nestes medicamentos no nosso pequeno país apenas 😣
Estes medicamentos são extremamente necessários em muitas situações e não devemos NUNCA estigmatizar quem os toma 👩🏻⚕️ mas ao mesmo tempo também sabemos que existe muito a fazer para além daquilo que a medicação pode oferecer: as nossas relações afetivas e familiares, a atividade física, a alimentação saudável, as horas de sono, os níveis de stress, o tempo que desperdiçamos (reforço o ‘desperdiçar’) nas redes sociais, o nosso próprio auto-cuidado, um ombro amigo... tudo isso conta quando estamos a falar de cuidar da nossa saúde! Mental ou não 😊

I took this video for myself to see what I looked like. I felt like my eyes were still closed. Like I was looking under water. I was cold like I wanted to get back in bed with my blankets. My head and my body hurt. I want to share. This isnt my worst. But I feel like I will be opening up more with my struggles. At least on here. Today started out as a good day. Then when I got home I passed out in my bed with my coat still on. I managed to drive home and get my shoes off. And didnt wake up til 10pm.
