Our 2018 findings-- the year the new seawall was completed-- shows a statistically significant increase in salmon presence AND feeding in pier areas below the glass-block sidewalks. This means they are better able to see to migrate and grab prey! (Clips: pink salmon along wall and a single Chinook feeding-plucking prey from the surface 🎥@mjcap13 )

This morning I was planning on making an early break in to catch them by surprise to steal the string but Minion #1 caught me. So I held her down in her chair so she couldn't call the kitty cops on me and demanded snuggles in exchange for her freedom. She is such a pushover 😹😹

I had to hold Minion #1 down because she didn't give me enough string time. 10 minutes was definitely not enough 😾😾

I broke in to my minions' house last night to demand string time and snuggles. I held them hostage with my cute looks until they gave in. Suckers. 😼😼

There’s nothing a bowl of piping hot congee can’t fix! 🥰 Congee (aka “jook” in Cantonese) is a rice porridge, typically eaten for breakfast. It’s often served with Chinese donut (“youtiao”) for dipping. Growing up, congee was one of my favorite comfort foods! To this day, my parents and I have a Saturday tradition of having a bowl of jook at Mike’s Noodle House. My go-to order is a bowl of Fishball & Fishcake Congee 🥣
