Fun fact: At this location where we shot some scenes for the end and the beginning of the 1st and 2nd verse we got cought by some villains. They thought we were thieves xD. After a few minutes of talking @oskaarndt managed to convince them that we were shooting a video. For this small village that's pretty abstract and especially at this abandoned place. Nobody would ever go there. That's why it took a while to convince Lel.
This is my entry to win an original piece of artwork from Todd MacFarlane! It's my Venom collection featuring my personal artwork and sculpture, along with several comics, toys, and clothes. Venom has been my favorite comic book character since I was 10 years old, and it was a blast to put all my Venom stuff together for this picture. I also just premiered my Venom review on my channel! Wip - I always feel I have an animal spirit with me depending on what I am dealing with at the time - at the moment I need wisdom so here I am with Mr Owl - wisdom on how to continue fighting the issues I feel so passionately about and not get depressed in the process #sculpture#mrowl
Having mentors is one of the most important things for any young artist. Last month, I was lucky enough to spend a week in London meeting with a number of mine. I received candid critiques, invaluable suggestions and the promise of various introductions. One of these was to Sandy Stoddart who, since 2008, has been the Queen’s Sculptor Ordinary in Scotland.
I have been working on this figure for 8 days now and have been keeping Sandy’s council in mind. The crux of our conversation was that one has the opportunity to work between art and nature. Drawing in Space, the method I trained in at the @florenceacademyofart (as conceived by @robertbodem), lends itself to this. Bodem’s technique teaches us how to construct a framework around the pelvis and rib cage in order to create poses that are limitless in possibility. Right now, I am simply trying not to be afraid of making a figure that doesn’t look like exactly like nature (here, the model). On a technical level, I’m also pushing myself to sculpt more loosely than ever before. It’s a work in progress.
