Human-headed winged lion, also known as #Lamassu from the neo- #Assyrian period, dating to ~883-859 B.C. From Nimrud, #Mesopotamia, modern day #Iraq. ✨ These guardian figures often stood before palaces. Their five legs were meant to portray them in movement when viewed from afar. ✨
Yesterday, I had the pleasure of watching some of the best prosthetic artists and sculptures in the industry! The enthusiasm was truly inspiring!
I learnt so much about the industry, top tips and what I personally need to work on to improve.
Can’t wait to go back next year!!!
Ohhhhh hiiii there you sweet little Nutter Butters 🥜 🍪🍯 Yesssss, it’s your favorite day of the week (as per my decision) aka Artsy Fartsy Fridayssss, where I introduce you to other artists, I admire.
Meet @colus - an innovative designer toy artist with an uncanny style through the use of edgy shapes with a soft flow, usually depicted in animal form.
@colus black, white and red color schemes are striking, dramatic and bring out the contrast in his tormented sculptural pieces beautifully.
His work needs to be seen in person to even fully appreciate their heaviness and beauty as he creates them from start to finish (sculpting, molding, casting and all) by himself!
I’ve had the pleasure of meeting him and his wifey @pemsicle last year at DCon and seeing @colus work in person was impressive to say the least. So if you are attending the festivities today and throughout the weekend, please stop by at booth #301 and say hello! They are quite gentle and welcome you with a sincere smile and open arms 🤗
Swipe for more pics of his work and on his profile.
Have an artsy weekend, everyone 🎨
