#CoilinSpots: Bernd Mayländer. A driver maybe as not as famous as the rest of the drivers on a race weekend is the Safety Car driver Bernd Mayländer. After a successful career in DTM and the FIA GT series, Bernd became the Official F1 Safety Car driver in 2000, meaning 2019 will be his twenth season in F1. Bernd has a very difficult job to do when he is called on to the track in the event of an accident or hazardous incident, as not only he has to slow down the cars to a safe speed so that the situation can be tended to, but drive quick enough to make sure the drivers behind can keep their tyre and brake temperatures in the optimal condition for the race restart. Thanks to Mercedes-Benz who provide the Safety Cars for F1, currently using a specialised Mercedes AMG GT R.
I met Bernd in the F1 Fan Zone in Barcelona after his interview on stage and jokingly remarked "When I started driving the car all everyone wanted was autographs, now everyone wants these selfie things!" 😂 Bernd is one of the people working hard behind the scenes at every Grand Prix to ensure that the events stay as safe as possible for everyone involved. Thank you Bernd! @berndmaylaender#Formula1#F12018#SafetyCar#BerndMaylander#SpanishGP#Formula1ByCoilin
A new project for PICKUP DESIGN has just been created in the CARLEX DESIGN design studio. The designers have prepared a complete design of a three-axle pickup called EXY MONSTER X CONCEPT. The basis for the creation of this totally modified vehicle was Mercedes X Class.
The concept assumes that the entire car body is made of carbon fiber, which definitely distinguishes the giant. The load box is covered with a protective structural paint in a very contrasting with carbon black, yellow shade. Color, as electric accents, also appears on other parts, both the body and the interior.
The car was significantly lowered and expanded, thus giving it a track specification. To stop MONSTER X CONCEPT, ceramic-carbon discs were used. The car is equipped with two winches at the front and rear, thanks to which it can easily be a track safety car. As befits a special task car, additional external lighting is also installed in the pickup.
The largest "monster" of the PICKUP DESIGN brand has just left the design studio to soon become the king of highways and global tracks.
