My fitness is gone, my core is non-existent, but I’ve never had so much fun struggling along.

Another workout falls victim to the humidity. Wasn’t feeling great when I woke up 💩😬 so I was scared to even attempt my workout this morning. Luckily it didn’t turn into a messy situation. It was one of those mornings where I felt like
I could clear the Savannah after every meal
I’m a sensitive soul, though I seem thick skinned
When I have to run
Into the wiiiiiiiiiiind
And OH the shame
Thought of changing my IG name
And I got downhearted,
Sorry kids 🤣💩
Now off to Blizzard Beach for the day 🙌

2019. 2. 20 Asics running club.
하지않을 변명은 차고 넘친다.
종아리도 무겁고, 두통도 있고, 미세먼지도 많다고 하고...
헌데 막상 2~3K를 뛰고 나니 왜 그 무겁던 종아리가 가볍게 느껴지고, 머리도 개운해지고, 공기까지 상쾌하다고 느껴지는 걸까?
심지어 마친 뒤 더 뛰고 싶다는 생각이 들 정도.
정말 이상한 노릇. 이러다 러닝으로 무병장수하면 어째...😇😇😇
There's a lot of excuses not to go running.
The calves are heavy, a little headaches, there are lots of fine dust...
But after running 2-3KM, why do the heavy calves feel light, brain feels refreshed, and the air feels fresh?
I even felt like I wanted to run more after I finished.
So weird. I think I might live a long life without illness running like this. 😇😇😇
What I am working on : PULL UPs!!
I am planning on doing a few Spartan races this year and thus in addition to running I have been working on my pull ups! So many of OCR obstacles involve grip strength, arm strength, and lat strength and so after almost every run of mine you’ll find me rocking out out a couple sets of these guys. Pre-Rockton pull ups were my fav strength exercise, but after taking a couple years off I am working my strength back up to be able to do strict pull ups. Right now I use a band to assist me and I am making progress week by week!! 💪🏻
What Rockton is working on : BALANCE!!
The latest and greatest crazy activity in our house is the MAGIC CARPET RIDE! Basically one day we discovered Rockton LOVED being pulled around on a little rug (whatd’ya know - being a rug buyer in my former days paid off - we have a million of these laying around!). When we slide him around our house, he gets to work on balance and core strength. There definitely has been a time or two he topples over, but of course the result is only giggles and more giggles!!! This kid has my heart!! ♥️❤️♥️

Day 270: guess what’s feeling easier?! My Bulgarian split squats! I’m excited to keep these up because I know they’re so good for my hill running. Plus, you can’t beat unilateral training for running 🙌🏽 What’s your go to unilateral leg exercise?
Feeling a little gutted by the sudden ice storm last night🥶 I’m looking forward to getting more outdoor runs in; they’re a little more exciting than Netflix and treadmill😵
