don’t wait for it • work for it • & match while you’re doing it 😎💕✨.
when it comes to running, it’s hard not to compare yourself to others. the person next to you on the treadmill, runner friends of yours, that really fast IG runner who happens to be pregnant & still running faster than you 🙈.
one thing i’ve been doing a really good job of this training cycle is reminding myself that the only thing i compete against is myself. the part of me that still hears the kids taunting young me, or sees what i like to call “fat samm” in the mirror some days (like today 😑). that voice inside of my head that says “just stop. you can’t do it.” i know that each & every single time i lace up, the only person i want to be better than is the samm i was yesterday 😌✨.

“Each person holds so much power within themselves that needs to be let out. Sometimes they just need a little nudge, a little direction, a little support, a little coaching, and the greatest things can happen.”

Sunday runday had a low quality photo but a high quality run! 🙌🏻
After a busy weekend with Justin’s family, MANY sweet treats and loads of other food, I was ready to get out and RUN! 🏃🏼♀️
Running/fitness is a BLESSING in my life and not a way to punish myself! 🙅🏼♀️ Whenever I hear people say that they exercise because they HATE their body, my heart sinks a little.
That should NOT be your motive; you should LOVE your body and exercise because you deserve to be happy and healthy! 💪🏻 Even if your body isn’t the way you want it to look RIGHT NOW, that doesn’t mean you can’t change it. BUT, those changes should come from a place of self-love; knowing that in order to be your best self, you need to make changes. If you keep filling your mind with negative self-talk about how much you hate your body, I can almost guarantee that the changes won’t happen as fast...💭
Exercise is way to prove to yourself that you CAN do hard things, that you deserve to be the best version of yourself and that if you treat your body right, it will accomplish anything you want it too! ✨
It ap-piers that it’s going to be a great week! 🤓😆😁 6 jogged miles through hills and sprinkling rain at an easy pace that ended up being 8:06 av. It was so much fun to just run through puddles and enjoy each second of it without even thinking about a pace except to make sure I didn’t go too fast or try too hard. I love these runs! And apparently run on sentences. 😜
Happy Monday you guys!
We have this! 💪🏻

#medalmonday 🙌 I talked to so many people on course yesterday and loved learning about their journeys. One guy in particular was on a quest for 50 marathons in all 50 states and he was currently on #49! His joy had me smiling. I know I've said this before, but I just love runners! They're a special kind of crazy! Many people thanked me for pacing. I was thankful to be given the opportunity! Great run, made some memories, slightly sore today...good stuff ❤
Look closely and you'll see a sad looking puppy in the pic...poor Yoda! With the combo of my marathon recovery and the craptastic air quality around here, it's looking like a bummer week for him! Did take him out for a 3 mile run/walk and am trying to keep him busy with some indoor fetch. Really hoping the fires & smoke let up soon!
My #Havanese has better rest days than I do........................................................................(No Havanese was actually slizzard in this photo). I’m just bitter being stuck doing literature reviews for research project. And I want to go running.
