Love this shot from day two of the Thames Source to Sea run. A moment off the feet to enjoy a coffee kindly bought for us by @andymuir20 . After a really rough start to our second 60 mile day, I think this was the moment I started to feel like this was possible. We'd lost Fab and that was a big blow but Andy's company guided us through some very tricky miles.
Seeing @jamescarnegiephotography was a boost (he took this cracking shot btw) and a warm black americano and a hot chocolate had lifted our spirits no end. There was still a long, long way to go but this is one of the moments where it felt like we'd weathered a storm and we were moving in the right direction. #ultrarunning#t136dot184
"You can have results or excuses. Not both." The kids were on a two hour delay so I had wrap my workouts around getting them off to school. I got in an easy 6 early then (after getting kids to school) hit the gym for strength training. Which included mountain climbers and burpees! I’m starting to get back in the groove. Trying to keep my fitness up until next training season begins in a few weeks. I’m off to school for my last day of AEW so no time for a proper selfie - thanks Moxie for making this picture interesting 🐶 #runningmama#riseandgrind#fitnessfriday
For the next few days I'm not running and resting my legs ready for Sunday for my first ever 10k run. I'm bloody nervous but so so excited to Do it. I dont even know what to expect, how it's going to be, how I'm going to be but I know I WILL do it regardless. Eeekkkk exciting! ----

RUNNING IS SO MENTAL. 🧠 You have to get out of your head if you want to reach your full potential. 🙌🏻 Can I tell you a fun story? Our older boys are training for a Thanksgiving trail 5K. We’ve been encouraging them to run outside together whenever possible and yesterday they had 3 fast miles to do. I got them set up with my @garminfitness watch and asked them what pace they were aiming for. “Maybe 10:00 per mile?” they answered. Knowing their 5K and 10K PRs, I encouraged them to aim for 9:30-9:40 as their fast pace and they agreed they could probably try that. I could tell they were in their heads and needed a push to get past the mental block. Off they went, and when they returned, they were grinning from ear to ear. “Guess what we did, Mom!” They proceeded to show me their splits on the watch: 9:56 (uphill), 9:17, 8:09!!! 🔥 That 8:09 was a 1-mile PR for the 10yo and just 2 seconds slower than the 12yo’s PR! At the end of a 3-mile run! They overcame that mental barrier and crushed their own expectations - and YOU CAN, TOO! 👊🏻 I had to give myself the same pep talk this morning as I headed out for the first fast miles I’ve done since Marine Corps. It felt so good to tell my brain to shut up and let my legs go! 🏃🏼♀️
1 mile up (10:01)
3 MGP miles (8:43, 8:40, 8:36)

Eat healthy! I’ve been traveling over the last week and have had my fill of food on the go. I admit our food choices weren’t bad while traveling, but quantity and portion size was an issue. It’s great to be home!
When your run and first coffee of the day are finished by 6am and it's Friday, I mean, what else do you even need to do?!
Thanks for taking it easy with me as we dodged ice patches on the dark trail this morning @thunder_tomaka (...and for compromising on a #5amrun instead of a #4amrun). I need to work up to this, especially in 20°F weather!
Time for a hot shower and more coffee! Happy Friday!
Orang kata, “age is just a number”...but numbers don’t lie. Pada umur saya sebegini, nak bina strength atau muscle sekalipun tidak semudah orang muda. Kekuatan muscle dan keupayaan untuk recover menurun dari tahun ke tahun. .
Masa rehat (tidur) untuk recovery perlu cukup. Kalau overdo, boleh menjurus kepada kecederaan.
Lepas 12 minggu, progress saya tidak banyak. Secara ringkas:
* PBF turun dari 18.2% ke 16.6% (⬇️ 1.6%)
* Muscle Mass naik dari 30.6kg ke 32.5 kg (⬆️ 1.9kg)
Tapi dengan masa dan komitmen yang saya mampu beri, saya happy. Small progress is still progress.
Harap awal tahun hadapan dapat capai Goal. Dan kemudian boleh fokus kembali kepada running.
Since “age is just a number”, believe in your energy.

BREATHE🧘🏽♀️ never underestimate the power of breathing... breathing gives you time to change your relationship with your thoughts/feelings and change your perspective💭 most people believe that the key to mindfulness is having the ability to carelessly bat way any thoughts that are unsettling but this can feel very overwhelming and have a negative affect on our minds... by taking the time just to breathe, it gives your mind space allowing you to change your perspective... perspective is key🔑 “Learn how to exhale and the inhale will take care of itself”💬 #FridayFeelings
Waking up on the final day was so exciting. Yes every single part of our bodies ached and screamed out for some real rest, but today was going to be the shortest day and we knew that when we reached that finish line we would have completed the Wadi Rum Ultra (and we wouldn't have to run another step in the desert...phew)!!!
After forcing down our final freeze-dried breakfast meal we walked to the start line to begin the 30km day. Everyone was smiling, music was playing, and for the first time since Day 1 we all started running together...apart from Kiko who sprinted ahead for her 100m of glory 😂!
Although 30km doesn't sound like much in comparison to the previous days...it was still 30km of running in the desert, in the scorching heat, on exhausted and slightly broken legs from the 210km we had already completed. I had expected the last day to be a bit of a breeze, because the adrenaline was pumping and the finish line was calling, but it was actually one of the hardest days for me. I was aiming to come in under 4 hours but as the heat intensified, and my legs grew weaker it was getting so hard to keep moving at any speed. To make matters worse, just a few km out from what should have been the finishing distance we were given the worst possible news...there was a detour that was going to add on a "few" extra km's!! Whaaat?! I didn't know whether to laugh or cry. The "few" km's ended up being an extra 8!! It was a seriously brutal way to finish the race, but it made that finish line moment all the more amazing!! WE DID IT!!!
We then spent the next couple of hours cheering every single runner across the finish line, with cold beers in hand (bliss after 5 days of just drinking warm water). With such a small race you really get to know everyone and their own personal journey, so seeing them cross that line was extremely emotional.
I am so so proud of every member of Team Like A Girl for completing it. Half of the team had never run further than a marathon before day 1 of the race...but with a bit of belief, determination, grit, and teamwork we all managed to run 258km across the Wadi Rum desert.
