Are you unmotivated to run today? I feel like that sometimes. What usually helps is:
✅ good music. ✅ pretty surroundings.
✅ a clear goal (i.e. distance, time, place to run to).
✅ purpose (run to catch up for a coffee with someone, run to a meeting/work).
✅ remembering how much it sucks when I’m injured and not able to run (that always snaps me out of any misery).
Any other tips out there?
“A journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step.” That first step can be the hardest step though, right?! Dreaming is one thing... but to take action? That requires courage and support. #RUNfully is a project I’ve been dreaming about for a LONG time. It was just a dream until I gathered a team of incredibly talented women who gave me the courage and motivation to put action behind my words.
We are #FullyNovaturientMedia and we are SOOO excited to announce RUNfully will officially be launching next year!!! The show is an 8 week training guide to running your first 5K, but more than that, it’s a show about taking your first step to achieve your goals in life, push past walls, and live your life a little more fully through running.
Over the next few days I’ll be sharing more about the show and how you can join the movement.
And in the coming weeks I’ll share more about my journey of running 13 half marathons this year and how committing to a running challenge has transformed my life.
What do you think? Are you excitedly nervous to take your first step towards something you’ve been dreaming about??? Comment yes or no below... 💙 you guys!!! 🏃🏽♀️💪🏽👊🏽 😄🙌🏽
Drinking Ex Novo’s Peach Pineapple Elliot. Also the mayor of Oakland stopped by to say hello. I don’t think she knew what we are up to but was a nice touch anyway. And big thanks to Michelle from #7stillsbrewing who arranges to have their beers on tap and give aways of their beers and whiskey!
Got my head held up and the view is stunning
With the hounds on my heels, I just keep running
My heart beats deep in my chest
I won't look back and there's no time to rest
I'm coming up
You know that I'm free
I'm free from the shackles
Free from the chains
Free from the heartache
The struggles and the pain
And I'm free

This week has been crazy in every way possible. There is nothing better than a good run 🏃🏻♀️ and a good cry 😭
Anyone else just cry out all their stress and built up emotions while running? I find it to be the greatest stress reliever and it definitely keeps me grounded
Oh yeah and I’m able to run again pain free which makes me a happy girl 🙆🏻♀️☺️🙌🏼

This summer, I found a new love. On the blog this week, I’m talking about why I fell in love with running and how it has changed my outlook on fitness.

I don't run in this part of town much but I've been wanting to check out the Iwo Jima monument for a while now. We are running the 5k and 10k runs at the charendon day this weekend with @runpacers so I went to pick up the bibs and ran home. It was the perfect 5 miles to fit in with my Wednesday short run. Nice little route through Arlington, by the monument, Arlington cemetery and across into the mall.
I got serious about running when I first joined my high school’s cross country team during my sophomore year of high school. As a naturally competitive person, it ate at me that I was the 5th (last scoring) runner on the varsity team. I wore knee braces on each knee, and if I didn’t wear pants spandex, even when it was hot, they would get stuck together and I would trip and fall. I worked my butt off all year not just at practice, but also at physical therapy and ended up leading our team at cross country state. I eventually earned a college scholarship for running, and loved the competition and my team. Running was always my stress reliever. Injury after injury left me feeling a bit defeated, and post-baby the arthritis in my knees was worse than ever. I tried physical therapy to try to get them to track differently, at the suggestion of my doctor, but it didn’t help. Luckily, I took a chance on Joint Mobility from @1stPhorm , and the rest is history. Now, I push Araya in the stroller and run with the cross country team that I coach almost daily…and I don’t have to rely on grabbing the counter tops to pull myself back up after crouching down. I miss being able to run competitively, and am finally starting to think that maybe I will be able to do it again someday, even if it’s just some low-key 5 K’s. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
P.S. when I started writing this I was solely planning on talking about how much I missed and enjoyed running…but I found myself continuously coming back to how much joint mobility has helped me, so I decided not to leave that out. If you have joint pain, I highly suggest giving it a shot, and the link in my bio will save you same cash money by scoring free shipping 💰
Sorry for bad updates lately, but nothing new here. Still trying to figure out what my next goal is🤔 Next week I will meet @coacharve and hopefully we make a plan together (🏊🏼♀️🏃🏼♀️🚴🏼♀️) For me it’s important to have a goal to reach, for giving me the motivation to go to the gym 5-6 times a week ❗️
Autumn is starting 🍂🍁
And the sun will be not so hot from day to day 😭
That’s why I enjoy every sunny shyness 😊🌤

Speedwork mid-day is never my smartest move. It still feels like summer, and I became a sweaty hot hyperventilating mess. I’m soooooo ready for winter running 😂
15 x 20 sec sprints in the middle of a warm up and a cool down which ended up being 7 miles total. I finished up just in time for the school bus to drop off, and sent my oldest off to hockey practice. #momlife
I’m sure all this sweating and hyperventilating will make sense in October when I snag that marathon PR...right?? 🏃🏻♀️💨
