This is the face of a girl who ran an unexpected, and largely undeserved 10k PR this morning🤗! I wish i could say I did a lot of purposeful speed work for this race, but I didn’t. What I DID do was run my usual miles, and I added in strength training at @burnin_byray. I do definitely notice that I’m faster when I strength train. Also, I’ll take 42nd in my age group in this town! Boston is a serious running city, and we have some ladies here who are fast AF! Plus, today was the Philly Marathon! A huge congrats 🎉 to everyone who ran!!

Secret City Half Marathon
Day started with a 30 minute fog delay. TWICE! So we started at 10 instead of 9. Mentally, I just wasn’t in the game the whole time. •
It was 32 and super foggy when I arrived. The moisture in the air made it very damp. Starting an hour later than anticipated messed up my planning for race attire. By mile 4 the sun was out in full force and by mile 5 I was hot. •
6 miles into the race I pulled off my earbuds, glasses, headband, neck/face cover and my gloves. Shoved them into the front of my tights. (Envision mama kangaroo with a baby in the pouch 🙈🤦🏽♀️😂)
Proceeded to take off my racing singlet and then my under armour coldgear shirt and then put my singlet back on so my bib would be visible. And YES- I did this all while running 😂
Miles 8, 9, and 10 I just went into coast mode. I couldnt mentally push through. Then as I started mile 11 I had to finally yell at myself because I was stronger than this.
1st place in my age group and official finish time of 1:40:58

Easy Sunday miles to wrap up this week with 61 miles (98kms). Preparing for my next race, the YMCA Turkey Trot 10K here in Katy, Texas on Nov 23rd.
Took this photo today when I saw a new patch of trail carved out by the Mason Creek Trail.
Something something running in the snow while it's melting. At least it was warm? I'm looking forward to the run relay crew race with @ngster_v and her team this Friday though 💪 should be a gooder! Any of my other Edmonton runner friends gonna be there?!

A viagem dos sonhos!
Finalmente o grande dia!

Monday - 14km easy effort one foot in front of the other - 😏 last week's "come back" took a swift nose dive within 5 mins of posting ...when I hurt myself getting out of the shower 🤣 let's see if I can survive this Monday 🤷♀️
9 mile zone 2 #sundayrunday!!! Did my run in the afternoon which was so much better temperature wise. It did take a while for my stomach to adjust after eating lunch. I hope you all are having a great Sunday. I'll be snuggling my man and kids on the couch for the rest of the day❤️
Recently had my 7-year runniversary. Running has saved my life, and through it I have met some of the most awesome humans ever. US Championships are coming up in 2 weeks, another chance to test myself against the best marathoners in the country. Thank you for following my journey!

I love running in the cold!!! I put this run off until the afternoon due to an early morning soccer game for my 9 yr old, but it was still only 42 degrees, real feel of 35! This weather makes me SO happy! Maybe it’s because I was born in Illinois, but I’ll take the cold over the heat any day. Today was 1 hour on my feet: 5 min walk; 15 min run X3 = 5.58 miles 10:49 avg pace. #sundayrunday#marathontraining#chevronhoustonmarathon#houstonmarathon2019

3.1 miles on the extreme trails this afternoon. Snowy, muddy and slick.. but close to perfect. I can never truly capture what the trails look like in a picture.. the roots, leaves, stumps.. you’re constantly watching your footing... it’s so different than road running, but a lot more fun & a heck of a lot harder. 💪🏼 #catholicwomenrun#trailrunning#trail#runchat#runthetrails#womenrunning
Mondays mean we're one week closer ⚡With 7 weeks to go, we have about one month left of quality peak training before beginning taper. Let's get it 🔥 #roadtoutmt115#nikerunning

For the first time in a long time today...doubt crept in, and I gave up.
I had a hard time hitting my goal marathon pace today, in spite of trying as hard as I could. “You’re not good enough to run a 3:05” ran through my mind over and over. I got more and more frustrated and my body eventually responded by just giving up.
Yes, I am tired. Yes, i have a lot of 💩 going on. But the marathon has no sympathy for any of that. If you let it, it will chew you up and spit you out. It has no mercy. It is not for the weak hearted.
Those who are willing to hurt, to endure discomfort, the determined, and the brave...those are the ones who the marathon rewards.
Still working on finding my strong. It’s in there, I know it.

If you want to burn fat WITHOUT cutting any calories and STILL eat your favorite foods, then I invite you to join the waiting list for my new Fat Loss Acceleration program (link in bio @muneeb.mash). Also follow me and check out the results I got with the program in the first week!
FITNESS BEGINNER FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS: ANSWERED (PART 3) by @muneeb.mash
This is part 3 where I answer questions that are frequently asked by beginners who have just started their fitness journey. Scroll down on my profile for parts 1 & 2.
What protein supplement should you take? You don't need to as long as you get enough from food. But as you progress, there will come a time where you just can't get enough from regular food. It is then should you start supplementing with protein. Don't make it a primary source of protein, because it is a SUPPLEMENT to make protein more convenient for you.
What's the best workout program? None. It is the one you can stick to till the very last day.If you're following a 12 week program, don't quit after 6 weeks because you think it's not working. Don't even quit after 11 week... of course it hasn't worked! There's still a week left!
How much junk food? You can have cheat meals once a week if your goal is fat loss, and twice a week if it's strictly muscle gain. This should be on training days.
Hard to stay motivated? This is what I do.. I remember why I started, I follow people who I want to be like on social media. and have this constant exposure to them over time, and I keep looking back at my before picture to remind myself how much I've changed. That's when I say to myself "Yes, it's working."

10k with 6k on my favourite Cross Country lap! Soon I will maybe organize a nice race on that course! Just for fun and for free! Sure! Are you interested to take part? 6000m completely on small, nice trails, sand and a little mud. Some little rolling hills but quite a fast course! Looks so nice at the moment with thousands of leaves on it. I think slowly I am getting back into running! 😊 Have a great Sunday guys! 😊🍂🍁🍂
