Had a decent run last night; about 9 miles with just 3 at Tempo pace; post race Tempo for me is more about giving the legs a bit of a shake out but not looking to aim for any distance / perfect pace. -
I woke up this morning feeling DESTROYED so went right back to sleep and delayed my run until 5:30 after work - 7.5 miles with the pup along for 2k. Running should never be a punishment and I will not feel guilty for getting some extra shut eye if I need it!

I think my face says it all in this photo. The pace felt comfortable, my legs weren’t heavy, my sugar levels were dreamy and my VO2 max is finally back to where it was pre-sickness big 6 weeks ago! 🙌🏼
I don’t want to tempt fate but my levels whilst #running have been spot on recently and trust me it makes a world of difference! It’s definitely true that it’s easier to manage if you have time to plan e.g. all day today I knew I would #runcommute home so I could check my levels numerous times in the hours before, make sure I adjusted my insulin and also eat appropriately, unfortunately I can’t always be that well prepared but ya know. 🤷🏼♀️
Also I’m sure it’s not just me but why is it somedays (normally the ones you’re tired and would appreciate a break), are all the traffic lights in your favour and others (the days you’re flying), you get stopped at lights you never even noticed before?! Jumped on board the TEMPO TRAIN again this morning 🚂 Heavy tired legs after some intense cupping and needling yesterday but MARATHON training doesn’t care how sore my legs are 🙈 @andrealrunner set the pace and I followed her lead 👊🏻 So glad it’s done before the crazy hot weather arrives 🥵stay cool today friends 🏃🏼♀️J x

2019 I set a goal for consistency. It’s Jan 23 and I have completed 12 runs & 8 weight lifting workouts. Today when I hit the road for a nice easy run, I noticed a shift... it was an amazing feeling. In 23 days I can step on a scale and see little to no change. In 23 days of running & weights, I can feel stronger AND actually notice it. If you are too focused on one thing (like the number on your scale), you can miss out on other little victories like improvements in endurance. I love to quote my bud J.Dirt ~ “Keep on keeping on!”
