This is the happy face of the first place female in a small, local half marathon this morning! A beautiful course on mostly dirt roads north of Ann Arbor, starting and ending at the Old St. Patrick’s Church. I loved it. It was hot and humid; I ran 13.35 miles in 1:42:47/7:42 pace. Very happy with this effort! And of course hoping the W here carries over to a W for the Wolverines! Go Blue!
The face you make when you actually start to feel/ see progress 😃😜🤩 The first week of June I ran a half marathon @ 8:30 pace and let me tell you it was horrible. I positive split the crap out of that race, I wanted to quit by mile 6, it was pouring rain and my shoes felt that they were 10lbs each! ⏭ to today, 62 degrees and light breeze just with the mindset of getting 12 miles in.. and what do you know! I negative split the run with my last mile being 8:07!! It felt effortless and amazing! So thankful to have found @run4prs and the amazing, inspiring community that surrounds it! 🤗🏃🏼♀️🌟
We’re going country!
Join us today in Saline (7158 Noble Rd) for a 3.5 mile time trial loop-like substance as we escape the student move-in madness on campus and also celebrate Luke’s birthday!
Afterwards: Beers and grillin’! In short: Dirt road running. Food & beer. Good times!

One of the best things that running has taught me is that when I’m struggling, it is only the universe trying to teach me something. I don’t always know what the lesson is in the moment but eventually, I find out.
Today was supposed to be 6 mile tempo run with 1.5 up then 2x12 min at tempo pace (7:45-8) ... this did not happen. My body was not up for the challenge today and as disappointing as that is, I know somewhere in my doubt there is a lesson! Tomorrow is a new day and I will continue to improve if I continue to believe and put forth the effort! 🙏🏼🏃🏼♀️✨

Ran to this spot last night and around Three Sisters Lake. Can’t wait to run here again, and also explore nearby Dolph Nature Area.
